Couple days ago, I found out that BC Japan Earthquake Relief Fund and their project JAPAN LOVE was organizing a fundraising street event. I sent them an email to volunteer ASAP! It was getting really frustrating watching all the news and images from Japan and not being able to help. This is a 8/9.0 magnitude earthquake followed with a tsunami AND radiation threats! This is huge, and so disturbing. So I am so happy I made the step to helping out. I hope it makes its way to the families, animals, and all those affected by the disaster!
All the volunteers gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery for a short orientation. I think there were around 40...50 of us?! It was the maximum number of fundraisers allowed legally to roam the streets! So there was actually an overwhelming number of people who signed up to help

Above is my team & I for JAPAN LOVE!!! Amazing people with great spirit and energy. Thank you Vancouver for giving so generously lastnight! I hope people will continue to support and the people in Japan to stay strong! I am currently helping to organize a relief show which will feature some of Vancouver's most talented dancers! If anyone is in the area who is interested in performing or attending please give me a shout!
Much Love,
AMY

It breaks my heart to see the images of what people had to face in Japan. Cars, houses, and other infrastructures being swept away like dust in Miyagi. Fathers, mothers, children, friends, and families missing, injured or lost.
Please take care everyone! To those with friends and families in Japan - I hope you get in touch with them!
Let's do what we can to help! Living in Vancouver, we expect a +9.0 quake to hit us anytime~ so seeing what Japan is facing scares me most definitely but more importantly triggers me to do what I can to help! You always have to think about what if you were there, what if your friends and family were there.

Mostly spending time with relatives here..but got to meet up with some friends the past two days, and will be doing some power shopping tomorrow with some good friends :) Come down to Tsim Tsa Tsui everybody! ahhaah. I'll update with pics later :)
But for now I have to update you guys on what's been going on this winter and new year over on my end! In December I went to watch 604 Delite, which showcased four of Vancouver's illest dance crews: OTI, NON, Groovy G's and Stonefoxx. This is BIG cuz there aren't too many oppurtunities to see a show like this over here.

Yes, you heard right! I made egg tarts. Now it's not often that I put on the good old oven mits - but when it's a good friend's b-day I try to put in that extra effort. So if you be good to me, maybe i'll make you a little something something in the future as well
.
Success pics! (they are supposed to be a bit burnt btw :p)

I gobbled down this tart shortly after this picture.
My egg tarts were appreciated...but I found out I had some competition. I think the professionally-made cupcakes outshone my homemade tarts! But but but my recipe is full of LOVE.

It's okay, I ordered a blue hawaiian to heal my broken heart. haha I wasn't actually heart-broken. now this is my fave drink, and as the name tells us..it's usually blue. Naturally, I got a bit excited when it came out green! Green hawaiian anybody?

until nxt time..
xoxo,
amykins :)

Can't start off this entry without saying...rip mj, we have been blessed with your music, dancing, and talent. truly the king of pop, who really knows how to make people from all walks of life groove to the beat.
I've been sick.. :( yes.. today is day 5 I think. Pretty much back to normal...except the throat feels strange, and I sound like I have the 'sexy morning voice' all-day long (except mine isn't too sexy unfortunately)
Today is our birthday. yes, happy birthday CANADA!
Umm so since i'm sick...and i'm up...doing absolutely nothing but coughing.. here are some fun facts about CANADA!
1. Winter is not our only season..We don't actually live on ice or in igloos..SUMMER does exist here!

2. We don't live on ice..BUT we do like drinking Tim Horton's iced cappuccinos.

2. Vancouver is the host city of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Unlike most mascots, our mascots are real animals..the real deal! And we encounter them on a daily basis. This one's half-panda, half-killer whale. Look proof!

3. Rachel Mcadams is Canadian!

4. Hockey is not our official national sport...it's lacrosse :p

5. And yes..don't know why. But we do like to say EH a lot. But so does Lady GaGa
that is all :)
