So apparently your halloween costume can tell alot about you ;)  Which explains why I was secretly judging every encounter in my head, on halloween night  

Your halloween costume selection can tell others:

1)  What you truly are, or want to be.

2)  What you fear.

Now, doesn't this intrigue you? Which category are you under?

The first one is quite self-explanatory...but what about the second one? After some contemplation..I guess it does make sense.  You want to be the person/thing you're scared of, and that way it can't scare you anymore. It's empowering! 

Let's put me through the test.

My costume was inspired by Rihanna's 'Umbrella" look...which is one of my favorites.  (only day you'll see me going for 'sexy' look)

I'm pretty sure I fall under the what you want to be category.

Oh by the way...I chopped off my hair. My hair dresser laughed at me because he said that girls never go from really long hair to really short in the winter =/  I responded with I like that breezy feeling behind my neck hahah. Which by the way...us ladies also have reasons for changing our hair drastically :p

Have this in mind the next time you choose a costume :)

Vancouver is actually pretty calm..and spending summer here is always a relaxing and chill time.

My lovely buddy Rikko came back for a visit for exactly that..relaxing, chill, and fun tmes! One of the first things we did was head down to the annual New Talent Singing Awards competition held at The Centre in downtown.

Another pretty lady from HK was also there..crowd pleaser JJ

These types of events always bring together old friends and people who we use to work with...so picture time!

Some previous contestants from Miss Chinese Vancouver including yours truly..sported some unique styles for HOU.  All items were auctioned off and the proceeds went to the Children's Hospital. It was nice to get together with some of the other girls, and get to know them a bit more!

Got away from vancity for a day...and went on a little road trip to the states. I came home with a new pair of heels - which make me 4 inches taller..  No picture of that..so here's a picture stolen from Rikko's blog.

So this brings us to last weekend. It was BC day, so we gots a long weekend.  Went to the Richmond Night Market to eat some yummmy food before hibernating for the rest of the weekend TO READ! And the food winner of the night mkt goes to.. THE POTATO HURRICANE.  This crunchy devil comes in various flavours and is a fave amongst us oily-but-yummy food seekers. 

Of course summer is not summer, for the keen student, without some serious kick-ass study sessions.  You cannot beat my kind of study session.  My friend Nat and I share a common interest..EATING. So it's no big suprise that our studying involves a lot of GOOD FOOD and drinks. From iced caramel macchiatos, fruits, to godiva chocolate..you name it, we got it! It's worth noting that before studying we went to eat some pretty giant bowls of ramen - and once more for a midnight snack.

Yes, you heard right! I made egg tarts. Now it's not often that I put on the good old oven mits - but when it's a good friend's b-day I try to put in that extra effort. So if you be good to me, maybe i'll make you a little something something in the future as well .

My egg tarts were appreciated...but I found out I had some competition. I think the professionally-made cupcakes outshone my homemade tarts! But but but my recipe is full of LOVE.

It's okay, I ordered a blue hawaiian to heal my broken heart. haha I wasn't actually heart-broken. now this is my fave drink, and as the name tells us..it's usually blue. Naturally, I got a bit excited when it came out green! Green hawaiian anybody?

Can't start off this entry without saying...rip mj, we have been blessed with your music, dancing, and talent. truly the king of pop, who really knows how to make people from all walks of life groove to the beat.

I've been sick.. :( yes.. today is day 5 I think. Pretty much back to normal...except the throat feels strange, and I sound like I have the 'sexy morning voice' all-day long (except mine isn't too sexy unfortunately)

Today is our birthday. yes, happy birthday CANADA! 

Umm so since i'm sick...and i'm up...doing absolutely nothing but coughing.. here are some fun facts about CANADA!

1.  Winter is not our only season..We don't actually live on ice or in igloos..SUMMER does exist here!

 2. We don't live on ice..BUT we do like drinking Tim Horton's iced cappuccinos.

2.  Vancouver is the host city of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Unlike most mascots, our mascots are real animals..the real deal! And we encounter them on a daily basis. This one's half-panda, half-killer whale. Look proof!

 

3. Rachel Mcadams is Canadian!

4. Hockey is not our official national sport...it's lacrosse :p

5.  And yes..don't know why. But we do like to say EH a lot.  But so does Lady GaGa
