Artist-Singer Amabel Huen Ning (萱寧), also known as Ama, brings forth her latest painting collection to the Fringe Economist Gallery, opening her  fourth solo exhibition “Amabel Huen Ning’s Latest Painting Collection 2009” from June 2^nd-13^th, 2009.

 

“My paintings are constantly telling stories,  recollection of memories, scattered pictures, scents, feelings and random thoughts on canvas”, says Amabel, “Painting to me is like writing in a journal, using symbols, colours, different shapes, materials and forms to write a story, and to share my encounters is a part of my life.  ”, who has debut her acclaimed pop solo album “Seoulful” in 2007, and till today, continues in pursuing her two passion: Art and Music.   

 

Amabel explores the unconscious sense of memory on her latest collection, collaborating with poems she has written for every painting, a style she has developed at her earlier years as an artist.  “Each poem is the essence of each painting.  They are like lyrics to music.  And each painting is a part of my soul, a glimpse of my presence, the touch from my heart.  The true existence of my life lies within my paintings.”

 

藝術歌手萱寧(Amabel) 將會在2009年6月2號至13號在香港藝穗會The Economist Gallery舉辦其第4次個人展覽﹐並會展出近期作品。

 

「我的繪畫經常在說故事、記憶中的往事，散落的圖片、氣味、 感覺和任意的想法」，萱寧說,「繪畫對我來說就像寫日記﹐ 用我喜愛的標誌、顏色、不同的形狀和形式來寫故事，用來分享我生 活的一部分。」

 

由2007年推出她的流行音樂專輯「Seoulful」， 直到現在，萱寧仍在追求她最熱愛的藝術和音樂。

  

她喜歡在繪畫中探索在不自覺之下所收藏的記憶和感覺， 並且將詩和畫合拼﹐帶出畫裡隱藏的 奧秘。 這種表達的形式已在她早其的作品出現過﹐ 亦是萱寧獨有的說故事方法。  「每首詩是每張繪畫的精華。  就像音樂配歌詞一樣。每張畫是一道走入我靈魂的窗口。 我的繪畫就代表我存在。」

Artist Biography-

 

Amabel also known as Ama Huen Ning (萱寧) )a dedicated artist and singer, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2004.  She has held several solo and group exhibitions and also started her first jazz band Subito in 2003, performing weekly at local jazz festivals and live music venues, including the HK Fringe Club.  In 2004, she was invited as a guest artist representing HK to perform at the Seoul-Fringe Festival, and opened her debut overseas exhibition in SUP Gallery, Seoul.  During 2006-07 she hosted RTHK’s Culture Dim-Sum program to promote local arts and culture.  In the same year, she signed OMG (Odyssey Music Group) record label and released her first acclaimed Canto-pop album Seoulful in 2007, collaboration between Korean and HK musicians, which made to the top of the charts in HMV for more than 2 weeks. 

 

She is currently painting religiously and working diligently on her second album.

 

 

藝術家簡介

 

自小鍾情於藝術及音樂﹐兒時已開始作畫及創作音樂。 於美國作藝術學業交流返港後便入讀香港中文大學修讀藝術系。20 04年於香港中文大學藝術系(B.A. – Fine Arts)畢業後﹐繼續從事音樂及藝術工作。 曾參與多個音樂表演及舉辦多個個人和聯合畫展。曾獲爵士樂團Su bito邀請作主音歌手﹐於藝穗會及多個本地爵士音樂節演出﹐ 並獲好評﹗2004年更獲邀前往韓國首爾代表香港藝術家參加首爾 藝術節

(Seoul Fringe Festival) 展出其作品並成為開幕音樂會表演嘉賓之一。

 

06至07年擔任香港電台電視節目 <文化點心>節目主持﹐ 繼續為本地推廣藝術及文化。2006年成為OMG( OdysseyMusicGroup)旗下歌手﹐並於07年推出 其首張個人專輯<Seoulful>﹐以藝術家/實力歌手打入樂 壇。專輯由本地與韓國音樂人攜手合作﹐亦加入萱寧之創作及演奏。
