Award-winning entrepreneur Alvin Soe is the founder and chief executive of Supernova Media, as well as co-founder and director of Fareslayer and Pulsar Tech. He obtained a diploma in Moving Images from Temasek Polytechnic (Singapore).
Under his guidance, Supernova Media has turned into one of Singapore’s fastest growing media companies. It has successfully completed the first ever Singapore-Sweden broadcast co-production with distribution in 36 countries. It has also produced a feature film with a cast of renowned artistes from the region, as well as a short film promoting a social cause for the inaugural UN-Rotary Day 2011.
With a vision to integrate travel and media, he has entered into a joint-venture with multi-million-dollar ticketing company, Fareslayer, to sell air tickets and travel deals at wholesale prices.
He also spearheaded the establishment of Pulsar Tech, a film equipment manufacturing company with workshop and production outfit in Putra Jaya, Malaysia. Pulsar Tech designs and manufactures innovative filmmaking equipment to expedite technical processes in filmmaking and media production.
Alvin has won a Merit Award at the inaugural Shell LiveWIRE Awards 2011 – the youngest recipient in the Open Award Category. The screenplay he co-wrote for ‘Kampong Ties’ was nominated Best Screenplay and Best Drama Serial at Star Awards 2012.
Alvin plays the guitar, composes music and writes lyrics. Some of his compositions have been released in an independent Mandarin music album. A former varsity badminton player, he still enjoys a competitive game with friends.
