Its been more than 1 month since I last blogged!!
Anyways I am excited to share one of my recent work with luxury boutique JOYCE. I was their first invited guest to launch this inaugural project featuring a video clip and a photo shoot for their exclusive members.
For those not living in Hong Kong, the JOYCE fashion chain is the first fashion house opened in the 1970's catering to the trendy consumers with all the international labels. JOYCE also has a beauty chain carrying all the top luxury brands from around the world.
I have not gotten my hands on the video yet but here is the picture of the final print.
I had designed this look based on my inspiration from the Crown of Thorns on Jesus's head. Instead I created a version on the eyebrows, inserting hair onto each strand of brow hair.

26th August 2009, I held my second cross-over collaboration with yet another French luxury beaute brand, this time not DIOR but GUERLAIN. The cocktail party was held at The Landmark in Hong Kong.
Due to the lack of prep time, I decided to use a all-celebrity models crew for this shoot. I had to organise the shoots in 3 days so I selected 4 of the celebrity models in HK, namely the veteran Janet Ma, Lisa S, Cara G and Ana R.
GUERLAIN's theme for F/W'09 is "Salvic Beauty". As the theme is very Russian-doll inspired, I decided to create a colourful palette for all the 4 models.
Here are the 4 images:

Gosh, its been more than 1 month since I last updated my blog and so many things had been happening. A recap:
21st July 2009 I had to fly to Singapore to attend a
CARTIER shop opening at
The ION, the biggest and most hip shopping mall in Singapore at the moment. I was there with Hong Kong actor
Stephen Fung.
29th July 2009 Then I came back to Hong Kong to finish some shoots and then I went back to Singapore again to attend a regional meeting with the big bosses of
Procter & Gamble.
It was an amazing experience, sitting there with more than 100
staff(both regional and local) and brainstorming ideas. I feel very
proud to be the
only invited Make-Up Artist amongst all the crowd. It was an enriching experience for me to be part of this session.
10th August 2009 I came back to Hong Kong again and then I received a call from prestigous French beauty brand
GUERLAIN inviting me to be their
Creative Consultant for their lastest Fall 2009 Launch. We concluded to hold a cocktail/mini exhibition event at The Landmark, Central to launch their Fall 2009 colours.
DIOR X ALVIN GOH "ICONIC VISIONS Photo Exhibition" last year was a great hit, being rated
No.1 Beauty Event of 2008 by Nielson Research.
Hopefully this year, I can bring some magic to
GUERLAIN and make their event a big success!

Will update more about the Guerlain event next week! Wish me luck!!
XOXO

I had been in this industry for more than 10 years, this year being my 11th year.
I recently had been asked to do a job which requires me to go for a
casting! That's right CASTING, just like a model/artiste going for an
audition. However my casting was a make-up casting. I was quite shocked
at first coz I never done any make-up castings in my career before...
The job was quite hush-hush, as not much details was revealed to me before the actual casting.
The job was for GUCCI's CREATIVE DIRECTOR FRIDA GIANNINI, yes, that's right. The one and only FRIDA GIANNINI.
A blonde model was selected for the casting and of coz she didnt not
resemble Frida at all. However after completing the make-up casting
within an hour, I was later informed that GUCCI had apparently casting
MANY MANY make-up artists in CHINA AND HONG KONG!! I was baffled but
yet very honoured to get the job!
I had worked with famous celebs before but never had i seen such an
exagerated scernario during our Shanghai/Beijing trips.....Everyday,
there were at least 10 limos escorting Frida and her team out for her
promo trip. And there are police cars following in front and behind
her. On lookers probably assume it was some political figures in town
but little did they know is the genius behind GUCCI!
Frida was really nice and I really had a very good time working with
her. Marco Chan was the mane man who shared the honour of working
exclusively with Frida over a period of 5 days in Shanghai/Beijing.
It was a really fun trip, with lots of dramas in between and I look forward to seeing the DIVA of all DIVAs again next time!

The Diva of Singapore recently was one of the 5 artistes who staged a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Kit Chan opened the show to her long-awaited fans! It was a full house concert that night.
Kit wanted something simple and trendy as it is not her own solo concert. So i have to bear that in mind. Also the organisers wanted her to open the show in a red number(every singer have their own color theme), so I chose a red Salvatore Ferragamo suit combined with my own 'couture' fingerless Swarovski crystal gloves which i took 3 days to make! It was a bit androgynous + biker chic with those gloves!!
Then she changed into a black Lanvin dress combined with my gloves as well as a metallic belt which I made for that outfit.
Hair was layered with red and purple extensions. Make-up was simple, with just a feline tick and satin matt skin.
Here are some snaps from that night:
