Here's an official map and general overview of Zaatari. With the large number of Syrians seeking refuge here with nothing but the clothes on their back, this camp has quickly become the fourth largest population in all of Jordan. Unfortunately, this is not the end to their problems. With the high crime rates inside the camp and difficult living conditions, many refugees are strongly contemplating the perilous journey to Europe for hopefully a better future. Located approximately twenty kilometres from the Syrian border, these refugees still harbor the hope of one day returning to their country...a country where their family members have been indiscriminately and senselessly killed from the chaos and destruction of civil war. Siblings have been incarcerated with only a number to identify them, and no one can track and find out where they are...and whether they are still alive. With all the instructions inspections and paperwork out of the way, it's time to take a drive into Zaatari refugee camp, home at one time to over 100,000 Syrians fleeing their war-ravaged nation.
