I was born in London, UK to Australian parents. I've always been obsessed with movies, and making them. I acted in my first movie "A Private Enterprise" at six months old.
I bought a Super 8 camera with the money I earned from my first job as a paper boy. I used to skip school to get a more useful education at the local picture house. Luckily it was an amazingrepertory cinema, I got to see some of the greatest films ever made by the age of fourteen.
I got into making music videos by making them for friend's bands. I took it up as a career after I got nominated for an award at the MVPA's in Los Angeles. I got signed to the Artists company, then to Ridley Scott's company RSA Films. I've since gone on to direct music videos for Coldplay, Kylie Minogue, Manic Street Preachers, The Darkness, Royal Trux, Peaches & Iggy Pop, Juliette Lewis & the Licks, Josie Ho and many others. I've been nominated, and won, lots of awards for music videos, at the CAD's in the UK, the MVPA's, MTV awards and some Canadian music channel thing where I made a fool of myself on tv as I walked up the red carpet after stepping out of some ridiculous hot-rod pick up truck.
In the last few years, along with music videos, I've directed commercials for K-Swiss, Bonds, Nintendo, Suzuki amongst others. I've had a short film in the London Film Festival, and made a documentary about climate change in Australia for Al Gore. In the last four years I've taught myself to be a director of photography, and have shot all my own work for that period. I'm currently developing a couple of feature film projects that I hope to shoot in 2008. I'm currently based in London and Australia. I'd like to spend more time in Hong Kong.
