Saber Video Causes Outrage

WTF is wrong with the American media?? Saber does a short video piece for a submission to the Democratic National Committee regarding the current state of America's Health Care Reform and instead of analysing his 'message', they just shit on him for 'desecrating' the American flag with graffiti??!! Why don't they actually READ what Saber wrote on the flag??

Culture of entitlement? Yeah I guess we are better off with the culture of the aristocracy getting what they need and everyone else be damned. The peons are expendable. Hate to tell them but this is what revolutions are made of. P.S. My screen name is Flagday because I was born on that holiday. I do revere the flag as a symbol of what is good about our country--its ideals not the reality. I don`t believe in utopia but I believe in aiming for it. The problem with symbols is that they can be used to illustrate divergent points. The flag is not sacred - it is secular. I never liked the Piss Jesus art of Maplethorpe because I think there is sacred ground on which we should not tread (and I am not religious at all). But the flag? Fair game. The flag itself was an in your face slap at the English monarch. It was born out of dissent. I find it so ironic that the Fox pundits call this lefty propaganda. You are right. They missed the whole point.

A 21st Century Contemporary Art Gallery in Hong Kong....

In the 21st century, a new genre of art has developed and its rapid growth has been unprecedented. The way people view contemporary art nowadays has created a new and formidable player in the Art market and even national museums have had to sit up and pay attention to this burdgeoning phenomenon. The line between fine-art and street-art/graffiti is now blurred, with its acceptance and recognition by the art establishment also bringing with it criticism and dismissal.
Adapta is a satellite gallery that attempts to bridge the gap between the understanding of the European and Asian art markets, creating a dialogue which, until now, has been relatively unobserved. We believe that the talent-pool that “Urban Art” offers is extraordinary and hand-picking each artist specifically for each show will demonstrate, educate and provide a wealth of inspiration for the youth of today.
Our first project will be held in November 2008, in Hong Kong. We have curated an exhibition of 5 UK-based artists, including Cyclops, D*Face, David Bray, Word To Mother and Vesna Parchet. Although the variety of work can be considered eclectic, it is precisely this reason why we chose them in the first place. From the famous street-artist D*Face’s two-dimensional graphic art to the rich textures of Vesna Parchet’s styled character-based paintings, a plethora of mediums, emotions and messages are employed for the viewer to digest.
With two shows planned per year, Adapta will continue to be a cross-cultural pioneer and strive to bring the most sought-after and progressive artists to Hong Kong’s doorstep.
