At retail level, it will showcase the latest 55DSL Autumn/Winter 2009 men’s and women’s fashion and accessories collections.

Also, a special limited-edition, “55DSL x The Bloody Beetroots x Turbokrapfen” nylon windbreaker (HK$1,500; 15 pieces only) and Hong Kong-only released T-shirt (HK$300; 55 pieces in black, 55 pieces in white) will also be available to commemorate the Hong Kong FIFTY FIVE DSL TemporART STORE. TURBOKRAPFEN x TemporART: DAY 1

Italian artist Turbokrapfen started work on the 55DSL TemporART store yesterday.
We can’t wait to check out his dramatic graphics and detailed illustrations of monsters, sexy women, intestines and blood.

The 55DSL TemporART store opens this Fri, Jul 24, at Shop 3A, 2-4 Kingston Street, Causeway Bay. The temporary “pop-up” store will open until end-September 2009.

CALLING ALL ART FANS AND CREATIVE PEEPS: Pop by the 55DSL TemporART store (Shop 3A, 2-4 Kingston Street, Causeway Bay) this week to check out how Italian artist TURBOKRAPFEN will be “decorating” the pop-up space!

Turbokrapfen has just jetted into town from Bassano del Grappa (hometown of 55DSL) to specially redecorate the store in his graphic typographic style. The young up-and-coming artist is best known for his explosive, colourful, hand-crafted illustrative artwork as well as his close collaborative work with The Bloody Beetroots.

The FIFTY FIVE DSL TemporART STORE will be open for 2 months only, opening THIS FRIDAY, July 24, until end-September 2009.

Turbokrapfen is a young Italian designer and illustrator. He is known for his artistic designs for 55DSL and has created many graphic works for electro-music acts including The Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, Crookers, Congorock, Dim Mak Records and ESP Records. His bright, lively style is strongly influenced by Pop Art, the Internet and new wave/electro/disco/indie-rock music.

55DSL PRESENTS... THE BLOODY BEETROOTS IN HK ON JULY 24

Always championing renegade style, fresh design and independent music, 55DSL — led by Creative Director Andrea Rosso — has recruited Italian artist Turbokrapfen and Italian DJ-duo The Bloody Beetroots to christen the opening of the Hong Kong FIFTY FIVE DSL TemporART STORE on July 24, 2009.

Located at Shop 3A, 2-4 Kingston Street, in Hong Kong’s bustling youth-shopping hub of Causeway Bay, the FIFTY FIVE DSL TemporART STORE follows a “pop-up” concept where a unique space is renovated and reinvigorated as a “temporary” retail/art destination. The FIFTY FIVE DSL TemporART STORE will be open for 2 months only, until end-September 2009.

To launch the FIFTY FIVE DSL TemporART STORE in Hong Kong with a huge bang, lively electro-punk-rock specialists The Bloody Beetroots will host a DJ set/club party at Volar on the evening of July 24. Described as “the love child of the Misfits and Daft Punk,” The Bloody Beetroots are currently one of the hottest acts on Dim Mak Records, the music record label run by celebrity American DJ Steve Aoki.
