Hi guys,

just a quick blog to tell you all about the YFIFF and myself, George Clarke...

I've been a fan of HK cinema for over 20 years now, and because of that have been inspired to become a film maker with the intention of bringing the excitement and energy of Asian cinema to Northern Ireland! My first film was the ultra-low budget feature, Battle Of The Bone, which is a kung fu zombie flick based in Belfast and went on to become the most talked about film ever made here - winning the Audience Choice Award at the Freak Show Film Festival in Orlando in 2008. Because of that success, myself and Yellow Fever Productions have become kind of 'the spokesperson' for independent cinema here in Northern Ireland, and have since declared a mission of helping develop and find new talent that dream of one day, working in the film industry both here and abroad.

My next step was to create the Yellow Fever Independent Film Festival which premiered in August of 2009. With 14 films playing from Hong Kong, America, Ireland and the UK, and special guest Mike Leeder in attendance, we succeeded in throwing NI's first true independent film festival. With 9 lucky winners walking away with the golden YFIFF awards, our plans for 2010 have now grown and we hope you can support us for our second year running. At the YFIFF, we want to allow undiscovered talent the chance to have an audience and set new grounds for the underground, independent industry here...
