Wong Kar-wai Finally Gets Degree

Famed director Wong Kar-wai recently accepted an honorary degree from Hong Kong's Open University.  In his remarks at the ceremony,  Wong admitted that he had dropped out of Hong Kong's Polytechnic University as a 2nd year student and never went back to finish his degree. 

Instead he chose to go to a directors course held by Hong Kong's TVB.  Looking back on his decision,  which has allowed him to become one of the most respected Hong Kong directors in the world, Wong doesn't regret his decision.  He is quoted as telling graduates, "Degrees are one thing. But the important thing is whether you are doing what you want to do."

Wong is currently preparing a Chinese dubbed version of his latest movie "My Blueberry Nights" which features Norah Jones and Natalie Portman.  According to reports famed actress Gong Li and actor-director Jiang Wen will be lending their voice talent to the dubbing.
