An acupuncturist who operates near my house has been doing this service for some years, he charges a minimal for his medication only other than that his patients usually gives a little more in token "Ang Pow" or the traditional money wrapped in red packet. He mentions that his father was critically ill at one time and so was his wife. He did a lot of healing for his patients and the more he did the faster his two family members recovered. This acupuncturist is very serious in his work, his ultimate goal is to cure as many patients as possible and not because he does it for profit making, he sincerely wants to help. So his work actually paid off for his father and wife's condition.

Another person that I personally knew had a streak of family ill luck, three of the family members died rather untimely but the youngest is doing well because he sells insurance and has done many claims for his clients. So helping others in some way really helps oneself.

I have always been told by my Gurus that giving medication and to help others with medical condition is making merits for oneself, in other words we heal ourselves of our own medical problems. It may not be how most people see it , it may not come in the form of a medicine and by taking it you get completely cured. It may come in another form by which you may have to undergo an operation but have better results after that.

Most patients who go to Healers or Doctors expect miracles to happen, these people even with great skills are not Gods and cannot always do miracles which is expected of them . Most events in our lives that happens are either because of our own Karma or the Karma's of our parents ( That is how the Buddhist put it in lay man's term) The only way we can lighten this burden is to lighten the burden of others . Most people who after seeking a doctors or Healers advice almost never return with a gesture of appreciation. I know because I was one 15 years ago.

My Guru was in ICU for 20 days recently, the only people who went to his aid were those who hardly seek his help while those who always looked for him did not even know what has happened to him. I wonder sometimes if we are still human.

Based on what I see or know of people who has always had a heart in helping others, even though they may not be rich, even though their lives may not be as perfect as others have expected it to be. They are definitely spiritually wealthy and have the support of many true friends. I know of many wealthy people but the majority of them are not always happy.

We can all do our part to help those in need, there is nothing to loose but a lot more to gain.
