The Ice Storm With a Vengeance

So New York is no stranger to snow, ice, sleet, you know the cold weather thing, but it's getting pretty bad. Not only is NY being affected, but more than half the United States is getting hit with this huge ice storm, and it's no joke. More than 26 states is overcome by ice and there has been quite a few deaths because of it. But let's stay away from the negative, and steer towards the positive. The power is out in a lot of places (okay, I guess that's a bit negative) including my job (there's MY positive) so guess I'm having a snow day. It's been so long since I experienced one of those. You know, when it snows the night before that you wake up early in the morning to watch the school closings an the television. Remember the joy you would experience when your school's name would flash across the screen? Ahh, those were the days. I got to reminisce this morning when my manager called an informed me I wouldn't have to go to work to day due to a power outage. I almost burst out of my skin. I am a bit bored though, forgot about those moments, but I used most of my time doing what I do best. Taking photos. Hope you enjoy these photos of a winter wonderland (a.k.a snow hell for some who have to drive ^_____^) Not all of them are up to par though, I all of my work cameras at my job for cleaning, except for one and it doesn't have that much film, so please forgive me those who are used to seeing some truly astonishing work, lol.

Upstate Farm
So me Andre, and the kiddies went to Buffalo last weekend to visit an old family friend. It was the perfect opportunity for me to take photos. Mostly their of the numerous huskies that he keeps but their such beautiful creatures that I had to!!!
The horse on his farm were friggin huge, but they were majestic all the same
You barely ever see a straight line when it comes to animals, so what gives here?
He reminds me of Steel from the movie Balto.

Heart and Seoul

A lot of the sites in Korea were breathtakingly amazing. I was going to use a plain tourist camera at first, but I knew that taking away such beauty from it all, not giving it the justice that it deserved would be a sin punishable by death. At some points I started to cry. I didn't get to post all of my photos that I took, like all of the ones I took of the red light district in Seoul. (That's right, I snuck to the red light district) I have to finish editing them first. I'll post them later.

RED-LIGHT DISTRICT
I found this smal booth in the red light district right by a church!
If you lean in real close, I mean grind your nose to the screen close, if you look in the mirror,
you can see me and Andre reflected in the mirror across the street from the prostitute's booth.
According to my cousin Yumi, prostitution is considered a necessary evil to the Koreans who live here. While police frown upon street walkers, they tolerate "store front prostitution- wherein prostitutes display themselves in red-light district store fronts - as its generally and culturally accepted. The reason, according to Yumi, is that prostitution provides deviant citizens
an alternative to spouse swapping and/ or rape.
DREAM OF DOLL
In korea, there is this company that makes these dolls. I instantly fell in love. Their a bit expensive though, and I'm going to have to put my priorities into perspective before I order one,
but their worth it. My cousin Yumi has five including these three angelic vampires.
These dolls are beautiful. They have wigs, make up, interchangeable bodies, outfits, etc. If I could ever have one of these dolls made of me I would die happy. I mean these dolls look more attractive than most people, and Im not ashamed to say I just may be one of them.

Holiday Seoul

As some of you may know, I spent my holidays in Korea. I tried to take as many photos as I could, but for new year's I was sick so I'm going to have to gather photos from my family to see what the hell they did while I was bedridden. The pics aren't in order to what we did, because, well let's just admit it, I'm too lazy to even try to attempt that kind of thing, lol.

I must say that this trip was frickin awesome. Got to see family, hot guys, even a marriage proposal. Even when I was sick things weren't that bad. I definately have to go back.
P.S. for those of you who want to see the sites, I used the "good" camera for those, didn't wanto to take away from the beauty in anyway, and I still don't think I did it justice. I'll post them in an album.

Disgrasian: The World's Next Dance Crew

Went to visit my family in the Caribbean a couple of months ago. When I was there I went to one of Toren and Rose's, my little brother and sister, dance shows. It was incredible the way they moved. I was in aww of how flexible they were. Im in the business of taking pictures of beautiful and astounding things so of course I had to set up a photo shoot with them. Everything went great, and I promised to send them some pics when I was done editing them in New York. Everything would have been fine if someone hadn't opened the darkroom door while I was developing them...ANDRE!!! Well anyway some of the pictures came out okay, but some of them were wiped clean. Luckily Toren and Andre are here to visit so I set them up with some local dancers and substituted those photos for the ones that were destroyed. So when you look at them, some were obviously taken in New York, while the rest were shot in Puerto Rico.

It all turned out pretty spectacular. Made me want to learn how to break dance and whatnot. O and they're supposed to be trying out for America's Next Best Dance Crew, or whatever it's called (as you can see I don't watch it much), so be sure to be rooting for them. They're group is called Disgrasian. They joke about how they gathered all the asian who live in Puerto Rico and made a dance crew, but Im sure there's like five that didn't join, lol. But they are thinking about combing with the guys they met with in New York, so they may change the name to something else. That's all for now.

Blasian Artistry and the Disasters

Ugh, I left work early today so I could help Andre out. He's been doing this art project for an art gallery in Brooklyn. It's called "Urban Commodities". He wanted me to take pictures of it to show to interested patrons, etc. I must admit they're damn good. I was so entranced in the colors as I snapped shots that I left the room to Andre's paint room open. Shaia, and Jaden got into the friggin paint, and now no matter how much we scrub them raw, they're still almost neon pink.
It may look, but this just makes me angry looking at it!!!
The doctor says they'll be okay. While I was yelling with rage, Andre was in the corner laughing. I thought I was going to have to scalp him!!! Then he explained to them how what they did was wrong and told them them to apologize. Of course they listened to him. I see it now, Im going to be the mother who doesn't let he kids do anything, and Andre is going to be the cool uncle who gets them tattoos! Here's some of the work Andre did before the tragedy.
