The Taiwanese government's film censorship board has approved the film to play in Taiwanese cinemas without any cuts required. The film will get an 'R' ('Restricted') rating in Taiwan, less restrictive than the 'NC-17' rating it recieved for the US. In Hong Kong the film will be slightly edited to recieve approval and in Mainland China over 30 minutes had to be cut.
The head of the Taiwan film committee said 'The artistic achievement of 'Lust, Caution' has been recognised after the (Golden Lion) award and it will better meet the public expectation to release the film uncut'. 'Lust, Caution' opens in Taiwan on Sept 24th.
