For my Friends not from Australia, this is a Kookaburra it was sitting on the fence near me, about 5 foot from me.

We have noticed a lot more of them around since we got the ducks, we think as there is more food / water around the yard. In general we have noticed a lot more birds around our place - since the ducks

Horrible way to wake up this morning. News that a duck had escaped in the park. So from sounds asleep, to up and dressed and into the park in under a minute.

Then chasing around after the duck, we got her home safely, and 11 of the ducks will be going today.

Sitting here having my coffee trying to wake up properly.

A reminder to always see things from another perspective.

I find it a bit creepy that Facebook - is recommending 15 year old school girls as friends for me, as they know one person I know (my nephew.)

Interesting alternate views from Front yard to Back yard.

Back Yard - Brisbane City Council construction project - with a noisy concrete cutter - who appears to have several hours to go and no advance notice when this is about 3 meters from our back fence. When the paperwork states that particularly noisy operations neighbours should be given advance notice. There is about a 5 meter pink line that they are cutting. In 45 years, I have never yelled at someone and then chased them down the street. Last Tuesday I did for the first time in my life.

Someone was trying to hang a dog in front of me. I will not tolerate Animal Cruelty.

Nut cases I can understand and I can and do just ignore them.

I can not understand how a University (Wollongong) - let this pass, or even let them submit this as a Thesis. Who were the external markers ?

Unfortunately I have seen dropping academic standards, in my time associated with uni's.

With the Australian open Tennis starting this week. its interesting that BBC have a headline article about tennis match fixing.
