After my ordeal with Apple in Hong Kong and then dealing with them on the phone in Australia and Europe I gave up. But then I went to US a month later with my laptop and walked into an Apple store and they changed the battery on the spot, no questions asked.
It restored my faith in apple by about 25%. It just sucks that outside of the US their customer care is so appalling.
