I went to watch the premier of Three Kingdom starring Andy Lau and Maggie Q last week. It was an exciting and nice show. I tot it is always nicer to learn history in cinema rather than reading it in chinese texted story book.
Plus you get to see your heroic idol battling it out in the gory battle fileld. Which so happen that I adore Andy Lau alot~ Everything he acts in comes alive and he becomes the story. Nobody can age as charmingly as he does.

It's always interesting when I watch this kinda war show, where gory is glory and each battle is over in less than a minute. And even when you get confused during those messy scene of who is fighting who, rest assured that it's always the enemies that get slashed and falls to death.

But I was amused during the show by some of the war details. Like when Maggie Q took out her musical instrument during the battle and started playing it. Imagine in a western show, where the King suddenly whip out his electric guitar and start strumming away. Would that had boost the spirit of the soldiers? Oh and the chinese soldiers always carried huge drums with them to the battle field. Think western rock band on the battle field? Hmmm...
Imagine the conversation during the war:
General: Bring the chair!
Soldier 1: What chair? Why do we need a freaking chair?
Soldier 2: The chair for our queen to sit on, what else?!! Don't tell me you did not bring it? (face turning pale)
Soldier 1: How the hell will I know we have to bring along a chair to a WAR???
Soldier 2: Then did you bring along the spare Pipa strings in case her strings snap while she's playing it?
Soldier 1: Look bro, the only strings I've brought along are my shoes strings!
Soldier 2: You are so dead...
Just my stupid and mindless imagination going here, hope it's not offending to anyone~
