As many already know, the mighty Clockenflap Music and Multi-Media Arts Festival is back this year (Novemeber 7-8 at Cyberport) and once again we're lucky to have been invited again to get involved. This year we'll be hosting the glamorously titled Urban Art Arena... Can't tell too much about our plans just yet - it'd spoil the surprise wouldn't it?

Project Update

Just a quick note to give you an update on what some of the occasional collective members have been doing lately... (Click the links for the full lowdown).

As ever, GraphicAirlines have been busy busy busy with loads of projects including a rather unlikely cross over with Disney's Stitch, a dutch clog project called KLOMP and a special Christmas gig with Thunder Chunky.

Meanwhile KS and his photographic project "the-ideo" have just launched a 5th issue, this time working with acclaimed Japanese photographer KABO. Check out the free web based magazine over at the-ideo.org

And finally, Start From Zero have been busy making new products for the winter, including some super snug hoodies that we've been wearing non-stop since we got ours last week. Find out more over at SFZ HQ www.startfromzero.org

More as it happens - and in the meantime, have a good one and thanks for the support we've been given over the past year. It is truly appreciated.

Urban Art - UK to HK

Opening next Thursday, Schoeni Gallery launches it's new collaboration with UKadapta kicking off with an exhibition of diverse works from 5 of the UKs leading urban artists.

The exhibition entitled ATTENTION SPAM features artists Cyclops, David Bray, D*Face, Word to Mother and Vesna Parchet.

It's good to see an established gallery making an effort to bring this stuff out here and doing it with genuine passion. And let's hope it doesn't just stop at trendy overseas talent, when there is so much quality home-grown talent that is crying out for some solid local support.

Vernissage (that's a launch party to you and me) is from 6:30pm – 8:30pm next Thursday 13 November 2008, and the exhibition runs 14 November – 10 December 2008.

ST/ART is an occasional collective of urban artists, formed to encourage, explore and document urban art culture in Hong Kong. The ongoing project is a ChinaStylus initiative.

Through events, exhibitions and collaborations, the ST/ART collective aims to challenge and widen the traditional perception of “graffiti”, legitimise genuine urban art and at the same time question the value of the established commercial 'art' scene.

ST/ART exists to provide a positive forum and exposure for the growing number of talented urban artists in Hong Kong, as well as providing avenues for their work.

Since its inception at the start of 2005, the collective has curated and funded three of its own successful group exhibitions; RE:ST/ART, 450/SQ.FT and 10:10 Hong Kong Vision – all of which attracted considerable media attention and public support, while at the same time raising money for several local charities.

The collective has appeared at several local festivals, enjoyed press, TV and radio support and also been commissioned to provide artwork for several local and overseas publications. ST/ART has also been invited on major collaborative projects with Reebok, Evisu and Tiger Beer among others.

Current artists include; GraphicAirlines, *COM, Start From Zero, C#, Big Mad, KS1, Katol, ESP, Ping.
