ST/ART is an occasional collective of urban artists, formed to encourage, explore and document urban art culture in Hong Kong. The ongoing project is a ChinaStylus initiative.
Through events, exhibitions and collaborations, the ST/ART collective aims to challenge and widen the traditional perception of “graffiti”, legitimise genuine urban art and at the same time question the value of the established commercial 'art' scene.
ST/ART exists to provide a positive forum and exposure for the growing number of talented urban artists in Hong Kong, as well as providing avenues for their work.
Since its inception at the start of 2005, the collective has curated and funded three of its own successful group exhibitions; RE:ST/ART, 450/SQ.FT and 10:10 Hong Kong Vision – all of which attracted considerable media attention and public support, while at the same time raising money for several local charities.
The collective has appeared at several local festivals, enjoyed press, TV and radio support and also been commissioned to provide artwork for several local and overseas publications. ST/ART has also been invited on major collaborative projects with Reebok, Evisu and Tiger Beer among others.
Current artists include; GraphicAirlines, *COM, Start From Zero, C#, Big Mad, KS1, Katol, ESP, Ping.
