I bummed I missed the alivenotdead reception in LA. I was knocked out with the flu. It would've been nice to meet some of the nice folks I've been corresponding with and some peeps I haven't seen for a long time. Some of the pieces I did for sony have been getting into other film festivals such as Athens, Greece Int., Beijing Int., Beverly Hills Fest, Hollywood First Glance, Texas Black Film Fest, San Diego Black Film fest just to name a few. waiting to hear on some more. It's been exciting but also draining at the same time. I've also been busy tightning up some scripts and treatments for meets. Gotta get a feature off the ground. There's just too many talented actors, writers, crew, stuntmen, etc I've known and worked with not to keep trying. I'm inspired by friends and peers doing the same thing. More to come...peace...

Just got back from Sundance..."Black Dynamite" received an incredible response. It was the first film to be bought overnight at the festival and only the second film to be purchased by a major studio. The first was "Brooklyn's Finest" I was only up there for a few nights so I didnt get a chance to see many films. I met alot of really nice folks but overall I'm just hyped for everyone in the BD family. pix to come...

Taking a bit of a breather for the holidays. I received some great news recently. A film I directed action on called "Black Dynamite" is premiering at The Sundance Film Festival. Its very exciting news. I think this film is gonna hit it big. The film is hilarious. I 'm just happy to be a part of it. Michael Jai White is the lead and its directed by Scott Sanders who directed "Thick as Thieves"
which Jai White also starred in with Alec Baldwin. Mike also wrote the scrīpt with Byron Minns and Scott. Just imagine you found an old 1970's blacksploitation film that never got released and you're only scrapping the surface. It was a great project to on and I hope it kicks butt at the festival...gotta go...peace.

Shooting on "Prison Break" has been great. The cast, crew and Producers are cool as hell. The directors were great to work with. I also shot an episode of "Pushing Daisies" It was also a really fun time and the peeps were awesome. l also love that show because there's nothing else on tv quite like it. Although it was the token asian episode, The Director/Producer (Lawrence Trilling) allowed me to play a different kinda take on it...and no accent. Don't get me wrong, accents are fine when it needs to be authentic to the character and story. Right now I'm in the final phase of sound design for my short film Lollipop. I also just started action directing on a Sony project called "Angel of Death" with Zoe Bell. She's been fantastic to work with as well as being a consumate professional and down to earth. Love being behind the camera again. The Director, Producers and crew have been really nice so far...gotta go...more to come

I apologize for not responding to some of the warm, gracious welcome comments from friends and new friends of this and other sites. I truly appreciate the support. It's been literally crazy nonstop work for the last year and also blogging is a new thing for me.
Please also let me preface this by saying I am truly grateful to the big boss in the skies for all the opportunities and learning experiences, both stressful and fruitful and the support and understanding of friends and family that I've had for the last year.
OK, so here goes, This is what I've been knee deep in...
Tomorrow I start a fun recurring character on the series "Prison Break". Character's name is Feng Huan. It's actually one of the few tv shows I watch.
Recently finished "Fast and Furious 4". Finally had the pleasure of working with Justin Lin (many of my dear comrades have also had the same honor). i truly enjoyed doing a "Cold Case" episode revolved around Manzanar (Japanese American internment Camp). It was like a little reunion cause I got to work with friends Ian Dale and David Hyun whom I've worked with previously on "24" and "Baby". I also shot a MOW called Mask of the Ninja. I finished shooting "Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3" with my asiatic sista Kelly Hu and George Takei.
Thru my production banner "Mini Flix" I'm directing/producing a series of film noir shorts with SONY for SONY ACTION THEATRE to be launched soon...
1) “Three Bullets” with Michael Jai White, Bokeem Woodbine, Ron Yuan
2) “Lollypops…” With Jade Quon, Ian Anthony Dale, Charles Kim, Suzy Park
3) “Tea and Remembrance” with Marie Matiko, Ron Yuan
4) “Another Lonely Road” with Diector/Writer Ben Ramsey, Will Yun Lee, Russell Wong
I also helped produce a voting PSA called “Power” with George Huang(directed Swimming with Sharks- one of my fav films.) and Kelly Hu for MTV.
I had alot of fun recently doing voiceovers for gaming franchises: Indiana Jones, Speed Racer, Wet, Tiberium Wars, Ptototype, Red Alert 3 and films Tropic thunder and The Disaster Movie...I don't know, somehow found the time.
Future films coming out - Blood and Bone, Shanghai Hotel, Girl from the Naked Eye and From Mexico with Love. I also directed action for the films "Black Dynamite", The Girl from the Naked Eye" and " Red Velvet" something I like doing in between my acting gigs.
I have to say I would not have been able to make it thru this hectic crazy year if it were not for the support and understanding of my wife Hazel whose actions and talents inspire me everyday.
Thats it. 12 months of blogs into one. Back to the drawing board...
