Alright, so we had a cool concept, one director, one actor and 2K to shoot a feature film.
So now we needed: more money, the rest of the actors, and more important a scrīpt!
And here came the idea for the money: why not have people donate some money to the movie, and the ones that donate would get an associate producer credit and would be able to participate in the shooting of the movie.
So we created a "first" website, where people could vote for their favorite props, for choices in the story, and so on. And quickly enough we got 3K through donations. Still not enough but better than 2K! :-)
Next step was the casting: we start sending the emails to all the casting sites, and got more than 50 resumees for parts in the movie. Which was great.
So the first day of the auditions we were thrilled because we were expecting a lot of people and to our surprise only... 9 showed up.
But those 9 were amazing and bear with me that at that stage we only had 13 pages of scrīpt and only one female character, but out of the 9 auditions there were only females and a lot very talented.
And at that point we decided something that has never been done before: we created female characters in the scrīpt for those actresses! Meaning: we wrote 6 fresh new characters out of nowhere! Characters such as "The Queen", "Rachel", "The Twins", ... And it actually worked! It made the story much stronger and better!
So, at this point we had more women than we could dream off! And honestly WE WANTED MEN! Yeah, there is nothing scarier than three casting directors carving for men! And so we organised one more audition, where that time only two people showed up and one of them was Cela who was Glass the moment he step inside the room.
Then we auditioned Martin, who got the part of Vann. Martin found us a Marcus (Jeff), we found our amazing Reisha (Stephanie Carswell) and everything turned out well since the wheels of faith were rolling as fast as they could!
Now: we had a site and a cast. scrīpt was still not done. But it was okay because this was just the beginning of our adventure.
... to be continued
