So I had a great opportunity to audition for a new TV series about a police force based in Chicago and they were looking for an Asian to play the person in charge of technology and surveillance...you know, the guy who pretty much knows all there is about computers and gadgets used for fighting crime and whatnot. Anyway, I went in for the audition last week and haven't heard from them since, so I'm sure I didn't get the role... However, I am still very interested in who they will end up casting as it was specifically written into the script as an Asian character. I'll keep you posted when I should find out. In the meantime, I found out that Ming-Na Wen is starring in the new TV series, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D"...can't wait to see her character portrayal!
That's me in the green shirt and backpack trekking through Central Park in NYC. I asked a good friend of mine to help me take some new photos since it was time to update my headshots for acting purposes. Obviously the picture you see is just a candid shot and not for acting purposes...haha! Central Park was the best place for the shoot since I always liked more natural looking backgrounds. It turned out to be a nice day even though the weather forecast called for rain. After the photo shoot, we ended off with a nice meal at a dim sum restaurant in Chinatown. The food was great and the best part is that the tea parlor serves dims sum all day long. Unlike traditional dim sum places where you get carts of food pushed around and you just point to what you want, all we had to do was check off the items we wanted to eat on a paper menu and they brought it out to us when it was ready. We had steamed roast pork buns, sticky rice, beef dumplings in soup, the "original" egg-roll, steamed spare ribs, and some flavorful tea to go along with it all.
Yesterday, I tried my luck at creating a new webpage at www.wix.com so that I can connect all my online profiles, blog, and other media related to my work. My experience was a good one and I recommend you to check it out if you should decide to want another webpage of your own. Please feel free to take a look at it and let me know what you think. Just keep in mind that I don't claim to be a webmaster, so don't expect fireworks...lol! http://www.wix.com/RaymondKwai/nyc

Last week, I had a chance to work on a TV production of a short scene at NYU. It was an exciting experience working with Hollie Bennet, who directed and put everything together. I also had a couple of other opportunities to work with talented filmmaking students on their TV projects and will be posting them for your viewing experience in the near future. Thanks for reading and feel free to leave comments about the clip. Video: http://www.youtube.com/embed/1mhJNDn8xZg
