  • LIVE @ DUST TRAXX CHICAGO 1997 - DAFT PUNK

    Friday, Feb 13, 2009 11:37AM / Standard Entry / Members only

"1997 - DAFT PUNK releases one of the most influential dance music debut album of the 90s, HOMEWORK. Chicago, the birth place of dance music - A roller rink called Route 66 sets the scene for what many has called the greatest DAFT PUNK set of all time. This was also the year the MP3 took the internet by storm. So we meet here, in the cross roads of dance music, technology and the catalyst that is DAFT PUNK - Though slightly boomy due to the transfer to MP3 format, the music path and influence of DAFT PUNK is evident & crystal clear! An historical recording!"

"1997 - DAFT PUNK brings Pedro Winters aka Busy P on board as manager and hits the tour circuit upon release of HOMEWORK. I manage to catch them LIVE at the legendary TWILO in New York. It was all a wonderful blur - from standing in line for hours in the winter cold to experiencing AROUND THE WORLD for the first time on the dancefloor with about a thousand people going ape-shit! This LIVE set totally brings me back and makes me all groggy again. If you weren't there or just too young to remember 1997, then this mix will transport you to the beginning of the sound you hear in clubs today."
