Drama,I'M NOT LI BAI,successfully finished the 100th performance in Beijing yesterday afternoon. All the playactors put up a good show. The audience burst into laughter heap of times during the play.
I'M NOT LI BAI tells a story about one kind & smart nurse and five psychopaths(3 true patients and 2 pretended). Li Xiang, who pretends to be a psychopath in order to avoid the creditor after he and his brother's company went bankrupt, says to everyone that he is Li Bai, the great poet in Tang Dynasty.
At first, he is very curious about his life in bughouse. He enjoys playing with the true psychopaths and admires the young nurse Miss Chen. Several days later, he receives his brother's letter. His brother took away their money and left him alone in the bughouse, which drives him mad. Li Xiang abandons himself to despair and doesnt speak to anyone anymore. Nurse Chen believes his story and wants to help to re-collect his courage. She asks the other patients to tell of their stories in order to make Li Xiang speak out his own story. Unfortunately, all the three guys fail. The last one is auntie Liu,who is also a pretended patient. After auntie Liu's son got married, she has to move out of her house and stay at bughouse. She believes her son will come to take her home one day. Auntie Liu's story deeply moved Li Xiang. He angrily rebukes her son as if rebuking his brother. He can't stand anymore and speaks out his story which has been hid in his heart. Finally, the kind poet forgives his brother. He wakes up to know that he should get up steam and create his new life. In the end, Li Xiang gets married with Nurse Chen. It's said auntie Liu's son really takes her home...Happy ending, right?
What's more...
In commemoration of 100th play, the playactors gave each audience a fan with all characters' cartoon figures on it. I also get their signatures.
I like this kind of drama, costs far less than those in big theater but easily accepted by the masses. I'd like to watch it once more if possible.
