On Saturday Jan 2nd I was lucky enough to attend the LMF concert with Pat, Raffi, and Sabrina. Pat had a spare ticket since another friend had fleed the country. haha This was my first concert in Asia. To be honest I did not know much about this group LMF (Lazy Mutha Fuckas-ers,az) But from there name I was already pretty amused and wanted to check them out. LMF is a Cantonese hip hop rock band and this was their reunion tour, since most of them had separated to start their own bands and groups. Anyways, they turned out to be pretty damn awesome and rocked the place. Although I didn't understand a word they said, canto hip hop sounds much better then mandarin hip hop I'd have to say. LMF reminded me of the old school hip hop bands mixed with like linkin park or something.... haha hard to describe but I am definitely a new fan. Here are some pics from the night:I got a golden ticket...Pat Raffi and Sabrina waiting for LMF to beginBackstage view LMF rockinL'Oreal Models...Mr. Michael Lau... just saw him in Melrose LA about 3 months ago! After the LMF show we went to a friend's b-day party and ate lots of friend chicken and sang I'm a little tea pot and other hits and called it a night.
Hey AnD, Been sick for the last couple of days so haven't had the chance to upload some pics from my trip to HK.On December 30th I decided to take the train from Shanghai to Hong Kong since 1. it was cheaper2. didn't have to deal with flying to shenzhen and then finding my way across the border3. more convenient, since you basically sleep on the train and when you wake up you are in HK.So after a long nights sleep, I woke up and was in HK. My snacks for the ride on the train....The Alive Not Dead party was a huge success. When we arrived the lobby was filled with people standing in line to get in and the party was poppinPeople dancing like its the last party of 2009..Pat and RebeccaMe, Phillip Ng and PatDJ Noodles from Taiwan tearing it up... She will be in Nanjing soon.Vince Chung and Me giving Alive not Dead NYE party 2 thumbs upThe party ended around 4:30 am in the morning with Pat still going strong on the dance floor. We couldn't catch a cab so Pat, Rebecca and I walked home and was quickly introduced to Mr. Stairs. Brutal walking uphill when you are tired, but it was a pretty awesome New Years in Hong Kong
On Tuesday we got the Nikon D700 and joined the Nikon Family... Woot! Faye and I were gonna get the Canon Mark II 5D, but Nikon won us over. Of course most people will think I'm crazy for getting such a powerful camera for a beginner... but hey if your gonna get your feet wet you might as well swim or something like that. :PAnyways, this camera is awesome. I've already taken some pics of my dog and Faye took some pics of me. Today we also met up with a professional photographer in Nanjing and spent the day learning how to use this powerful weapon. So anyone interested in going around town and taking pictures with us is more then welcome. I would love to learn as much as I can from everyone! Will put up some pics that I've taken with the D700 in my next blog!圣诞快乐！Merry Xmas!再见！Tam
Hello A&D, I am currently in Nanjing for the holidays. The weather here is of course much colder then LA and I am still trying to adapt. I wear about 4-5 layers of clothing in order to leave the house and I can only imagine hold cold Beijing is. My current plans are to stay in Nanjing until Chinese New Years and then I will head to Beijing to check things out, visit friends, and decide whether or not moving to Beijing is the right thing for me. Michael Jackson passed away today... I heard it over the radio, my friends text messaged me and I still didn't believe it. Then LA Times and all the news started to confirm the death and all the radio stations started playing all his songs non stop.It is a sad day. Love and Respect
