Confirmed: “G.I. Joe 2″ Shelved Until March 2013!!
Thursday, May 24, 2012 7:45AM / News
In SHOCKING news…Jon M. Chu‘s G.I. Joe: Retaliation will not hit theatres until March 29, 2013. Paramount Pictures has decided to forgo the June 29th theatrical release date, opting instead to spend nine extra months and millions more dollars on a “conscientious 3-D job” in hopes of pulling in a greater international box office draw, according to Deadline.com.
Hollywood is shocked that Paramount vacated the primo date, especially because Paramount blew a wad on a Super Bowl commercial and already was starting TV and outdoor ads for GI Joe 2. Paramount has had luck delaying films before: its decision to move Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island gave the director his biggest box office hit ever. And right now, 3D is huge internationally, with Russia and China building new 3D theaters by the week. Also the execs say that the blockbuster performance of The Hunger Games shows that March can be a prime time of the year to release movies.
G.I. Joe 2 stars Lee Byung Hun, Dywane “The Rock” Johnson, Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis and Elodie Yung.
More deets to come. I’ll keep you posted.

Daniel Henney & Mango In ELLE Magazine, “Mr. K” Gets New Director
Wednesday, May 23, 2012 9:12PM / News
Daniel Henney and his pet pooch Mango are featured in the June 2012 issue of ELLE magazine. A few pics from the fashion spread below.
Check it.
Before I sign off…LEGAL drama news on Daniel’s upcoming film, Mr. K (미스터K / Miseuteo K).
In March, I posted news of Daniel’s upcoming blockbuster, Mr. K. Well, the film hit a major snafu.
In a nutshell, director Lee Myung-se was dropped from the project after one month of shooting because he ” illegally and secretly registered” himself as the film’s copyright holder in April and deviated significantly from the scrīpt, according to production house JK Film.
“The film was going to be an action comedy with realistic characters, something like the James Bond series,” said Han Ji-seon of JK Film.
“But director Lee got rid of entire scrīpt lines and shot each scene in a rather serene and lyrical way. And the characters were very much like the ones you’d expect to see in a fantasy-cartoon movie. They weren’t what we initially had in mind as its producers.”
“We have no plans to make this suit bigger,” said Han. “It won’t go to the criminal court as long as director Lee drops his name as the film’s copyright holder.”
Lee Seung-joon is now directing the feature.
JK Film still expects Mr. K, co-starring Daniel Henney, Seol Gyeong-gu, Mun So-ri and Go Chang-seok, to release by the end of the year.
My thoughts: Whateva. This film is not releasing any time soon. I’ll keep you posted.

Btw, contrary to reports from Cannes, Jackie Chan is retiring NOT retiring from action films.
In reaction to widespread press reports concerning statements he made at the Cannes Film Festival, Jackie has sent the following message to his fans:
Hello All My friends and fans,
Yesterday in my press conference in Cannes for Chinese 12 Zodiac I said that this movie was my last big action movie.
Today I was shocked when I woke up to read all the news coverage that I was retiring from doing Action movies.
I just want to let everyone know that I am not retiring from doing action movies. What I meant to say is that I need to do less of the life risking stunts on my movies. After all these years of doing so many stunts and breaking so many bones, I need to take better care of my body so I can keep working.
I will continue to do international action movies.
And I will keep improving my English
I love all of you!
Jackie
