Today I woke up with a massive headache. Shit was annoying me because I didn't want to wake up when I did. So today is not a big day for me as far as going out and getting my body active. Just got finished watching the movie "Shopaholics". It is a ridiculous movie. The best part of the movie is when Lau Ching-Wan's character cannot decide which fighting style he wants to use in a fight with security guards. Yeah.
So later on, or more like in two hours, I'm off to go see the new Indiana Jones movie. I'm hoping for it to be a good movie because my head is going to hurt. I know it is going to hurt with all the noise and lights.
Ah, when I get home, I'll probably foolishly play some GTA 4 on the Ps3 and make my head hurt even more. So yeah. Hopefully I can get some basketball going soon because I've been fiending for some games.
Ah the wonders of blogging. Well I'm off to try and kill this headache.
Oh yeah.... GO LAKERS!!

So It's That Time of The Year

Family gatherings, clubbing, leisure events, and the Conference Finals for the NBA.
I know a lot of people are disappointed that we're not getting fresh new blood into the conference finals like the New Orleans Hornets, but I can say that I'm happy with these teams. For the West, the Spurs definitely match up better against the Lakers than the Hornets would. Peja would have been the only player besides Chris Paul who the Lakers wouldn't have an answer for but Lakers have weapons the Hornets have no answer for that are even better (Kobe, Gasol, Odom). Either way for the West, I'm rooting for the Lakers since they have three of my favorite players.
For the East, they have my original home team: The Detroit Pistons. They are going up against the team who has the most bandwagon jumping fans in NBA History: The Boston Celtics. Reason why I had to make that last statement was because I've always supported Paul Pierce's struggles and the determination he had through the years. Nobody gave a crap about him and the Celtics until this year (which is understandable and annoying at the same time). So this matchup while it could be very interesting, I give it to Detroit. Not because the voice inside me is telling me to but because of several factors that play into the series. Detroit has matched up well against the Celtics this year whether they won or lost. Detroit has plenty of experience with playoff pressure at this point, the Big Three of the Celtics don't. As much as I love Paul Pierce, KG, and Ray Allen, they haven't done much as far as progressing through the playoffs go for their careers. But the biggest factor for the series is team depth. Detroit's second unit is arguably the best second unit in the NBA. They put in just as much as the starting five and Boston's second unit usually stays alive due to Paul Pierce playing minutes with them. I see this as a major factor on whether Detroit will win or lose.
Now for the NBA Finals. My personal preference would be Lakers and Pistons. Simply because it would be my favorite team vs my original home team. It would also be an inner clash for me since I'm obviously rooting for both teams. I would also prefer for the Lakers to take this one simply because of how long I've been rooting for them. The NBA Finals can't go wrong any way though, whether you have the revival of the Lakers and Celtics matchup, or you have KG finally trying to prove that he's the better player between him and Duncan, or you have the often perceived boring matchup between the Spurs and Pistons (I actually like watching good basketball so its not boring to me). The NBA Finals will not go wrong this year. Obviously if the NBA wants the highest ratings it can get out of the NBA Finals, they would like it for the Lakers and Celtics to go all the way.
But yeah, all this basketball talk makes me want to go play some basketball now.

My first post

I don't have much to say right now.
I found a poem I wrote almost 4 years ago. Haha this is an old poem. I remember writing it coming home after seeing this girl in person for the first time. Ah I need to meet more girls who have this effect on me.
"Talking/ What Is"
When I first saw her
I was blown away
The beauty on the outside
It's radiating from within
Everytime I see her, the choking rises
It's just so beautiful, her aura shine is
What is the word that I'm looking for
What is the word that she defines
....It's as if I can't seem to find it
But everytime I look at her, I can probe it oh so more
I think I've found it.....yeah I've found it
She is beautiful
I've seen her again....and....
Yeah still blown away
I still can't get words out of my mouth
It's like she had me under some kinde of Gorgon's Gaze
Why do I stand motionless when I see such beautiful eyes
It's just oh so beautiful.....her aura shine
What is the word that I'm looking for
I can't seem to think of it
What is the word that she defines
It just seems to always disappear
But everytime I look at her
It always comes back with some feelings more
I've definitely found it
She is beautiful
Then my luck had it
that i ran right into her
I guess fate had it perfect
It was now or never
But could I do it
I didn't know how I could
Everything is disappearing
Time is frozen now........
What is the word that I'm looking for
She seems to suck the words away from me
But when I see her
They always come back to me
So what is the word that she defines
I think I finally get it....not like before
Yeah I found it.......
You are beautiful

Only my very good friends and family members go as far as to call me Maxim. People think that my full first name would be Maximillion or something along the lines of that. Nope. Just Maxim like the magazine. I like it because of the meaning behind the name. Its a principle. It pretty much means to put thought in one's actions before acting on those actions. That pretty much defines my character. I'll always think something out at least once before I even act. It's worked well for me so far.
Well more about me. I was born in Warren, Michigan. I lived in the city for a few years before moving out into a small city out in the countryside called Lapeer. I lived there for about six years or so before moving up to St. Paul, Minnesota. I stayed there for about a year before moving into the other half of the Twin Cities: Minneapolis. I've been living here ever since. I'd love to go live in a warmer place but this place is the place where I've spent the most time and was allowed to bond with people for the long run. I don't know if I can ever leave that.
Well even though I'm not sure on where I want to live in the future, I do know that I want to travel. A place where I'd love to go visit is Hong Kong. It seems like it would be a refreshing place to visit and I'd love to learn how to play Mahjong over there haha. Another place I'd like to visit is Thailand. I don't know where specifically but I just want to see how authentic home-made Thai food tastes like so that I can compare it to how my family made Thai food for our restaurant.
My interests are quite simple. I love the game of basketball. The way martial artists feel about how martial arts can make up the center and balance of their life, well that's how I feel about basketball. Whenever I'm down, I know I can turn to basketball to ease my mind. Another thing that I like to do is read. While I may not make the time for reading as much as I'd like to, reading is another thing where a person can't go wrong. Movies fall into another past time favorite. I am a big movie person and it just makes me wish that I had the talent and the drive to pursue acting as a career. I could try my hand at writing screenplays. I've always been efficient at typing(not handwriting) and writing stories. I just haven't put my mind into the matter enough to pursue that dream.
Well speaking of movies though, I've been on a HK film binge. Of foreign films, I largely prefer Hong Kong films due to a lot of reasons. The actors and actresses really make it seem like I can relate to them and that shows how well they can get into character. I guess the biggest example of this has to be Jackie Chan. He may not be the best overall actor in Hong Kong, but he does a very good job in portraying the average joe. Besides, the stories in HK films are always refreshing to look at when American studios put out what they put out.
Well that's enough for now as I shall update in time. - Age: 21
