Halloween 2008

So Halloween this year I actually chose to celebrate in a way. Halloween this year has been something that I planned for but never acted out on. First character I wanted to be was Raiden from Metal Gear Solid 4. Got lazy and never tried to get a good quality Raiden costume. My next costume was just the yellow jumpsuit from The Game of Death. I was to be Bruce Lee. I couldn't find the costume mainly because of my procrastination and going out the day before Halloween for a costume. So while I'm too lazy to think about costumes, I just get myself a leather jacket and say that I'll be Eric Draven aka The Crow. If I can't impersonate Bruce Lee, I can at least make an effort to become Brandon Lee. My makeup was messed up because I don't have eyebrows close to my eyes like Brandon Lee, making the black on my eyes really big and dominant. The lines for my eyes also went too high, but oh well. Everyone thought it was a good attempt especially for being very last minute.
So we go out to this house party hosted by good friends and family. The night is going very well until the inevitable happens: a fight. Or rather fights. So to make things worse is that my sister's boyfriend, his brother, and his boss start getting targeted despite having absolutely nothing to do with these dumb ass fights. We are pretty much all Asians at this party but Asians have the tendency to have reservations or ignorant feelings towards a different Asian person. So with my sister's boyfriend and them being the only Vietnamese folks or rather the only different folks at the party, they got singled out. Talk about some misunderstanding. Our cousins hosting the party, while they had to hold a lot of people back, quickly made it a point that we had nothing to do with anything. But no matter how good your communication skills are, talking to a dumbass won't change the fact that they're a dumbass. So we just left before the real craziness started and I won't even get started on that because shit was all fucked up. Thank God I'm a pacifist haha.
So the party effectively ended around midnight, and instead of hitting up other parties that we were invited to or the clubs which were holding costume parties and having a lot of my friends as guests, we simply opted to go and grab something to eat. We had food before the party, at the party, and the first thing we thought of afterwards was to go eat. Go figure.... well anyways Halloween for me while it built up to a lot of fun and ended off on a fight, I won't let some dumb fucks ruin the feeling of having a blast with the people I love.
Alivenotdead does not have a fast enough uploader for me to upload all the pictures I have.... so my Myspace has all the pictures. I just have a few below.

Only my very good friends and family members go as far as to call me Maxim. People think that my full first name would be Maximillion or something along the lines of that. Nope. Just Maxim like the magazine. I like it because of the meaning behind the name. Its a principle. It pretty much means to put thought in one's actions before acting on those actions. That pretty much defines my character. I'll always think something out at least once before I even act. It's worked well for me so far.
Well more about me. I was born in Warren, Michigan. I lived in the city for a few years before moving out into a small city out in the countryside called Lapeer. I lived there for about six years or so before moving up to St. Paul, Minnesota. I stayed there for about a year before moving into the other half of the Twin Cities: Minneapolis. I've been living here ever since. I'd love to go live in a warmer place but this place is the place where I've spent the most time and was allowed to bond with people for the long run. I don't know if I can ever leave that.
Well even though I'm not sure on where I want to live in the future, I do know that I want to travel. A place where I'd love to go visit is Hong Kong. It seems like it would be a refreshing place to visit and I'd love to learn how to play Mahjong over there haha. Another place I'd like to visit is Thailand. I don't know where specifically but I just want to see how authentic home-made Thai food tastes like so that I can compare it to how my family made Thai food for our restaurant.
My interests are quite simple. I love the game of basketball. The way martial artists feel about how martial arts can make up the center and balance of their life, well that's how I feel about basketball. Whenever I'm down, I know I can turn to basketball to ease my mind. Another thing that I like to do is read. While I may not make the time for reading as much as I'd like to, reading is another thing where a person can't go wrong. Movies fall into another past time favorite. I am a big movie person and it just makes me wish that I had the talent and the drive to pursue acting as a career. I could try my hand at writing screenplays. I've always been efficient at typing(not handwriting) and writing stories. I just haven't put my mind into the matter enough to pursue that dream.
Well speaking of movies though, I've been on a HK film binge. Of foreign films, I largely prefer Hong Kong films due to a lot of reasons. The actors and actresses really make it seem like I can relate to them and that shows how well they can get into character. I guess the biggest example of this has to be Jackie Chan. He may not be the best overall actor in Hong Kong, but he does a very good job in portraying the average joe. Besides, the stories in HK films are always refreshing to look at when American studios put out what they put out.
Well that's enough for now as I shall update in time. - Age: 21
- Gender: Male
- Total visits: 5,772
