  • Halloween Weekend

    Friday, Jul 4, 2008 5:40AM / Members only

Question of the Day:  Where else in the world do they celebrate Halloween other than people in the states?

Did nothing eventful...  Didn't feel like dressing up and drinking til I pass out in the freezing cold this year!

I'm looking forward to my vaca to Florida...  Awesome beaches...  Safari Zoos...  Unique Museums...  CAN'T WAIT!  That reminds me; I should pack since I'm leaving Wednesday!  =)  Anyhoo..  Pictures will be up once I get back from the warm clearwater beaches...

  • Merry Christmas

    Friday, Jul 4, 2008 5:40AM / Members only

Another short year coming to an end!  Just came back from a last minute skiing trip; I didn't ski but did some last minute shopping for family and friends...  Haha...  Finished my shopping, very last min, had a chance to watch everyone come down from the slopes and played a game of scrabble.  Nice and relaxing.

Anyhoo...  I wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!~

NOW, Can't wait for my trip to VEGAS trip during Chinese New Year weekend!  Yay!  Can't wait; were staying at the newest hotel on the strip; it's supposedly nice...  It's not even open yet.

  • Columbus Day Weekend...

    Monday, Oct 8, 2007 12:59PM / Members only

So Cubs lost and has been eliminated from the playoffs...  Oh well!

Bears just won an awesome game against Green Bay Packers...

No I'm not a big sports fan but accompanying my boyfriend to the sports bars, you cannot help but to build an interest in sports!  Haha...  But by far, watching ice hockey at the rink is MY FAVORITE!  Gliding on ice, skills with the ice puck, and not to mention the gloves and sports gear flying off when there's a fight!!  hahaha...  So darn exciting!

Went shopping Saturday morning...  Didn't buy much because i guess it was an off day for me...  Sometimes, things just won't fit right!  Just added to my closet, two more dresses...  And I don't even wear dresses that often!  Can't hurt to add a slinky black dress to the collection...

Chicago Marathon was today!  Guess how hot it was in Chicago today?  The heat index was close to 90 degrees!  WTF, its Chicago not Miami!  One man died from heat exhaustion...  He was a father of three kids and a local Michigan police man...  And an extreme number of people passed out from just being out in the heat and running a marathon...  But CONGRATS to the people who actually completed it!

    *****high fives*  *fist bumps*  *hugs*****

Went to two BBQs today, they weren't really considered BBQs because both were hosted inside due to the hot and humid weather and we just used the grills for skewers.  First BBQ was done by a Jewish-Italian couple and the second was a Cambodian family...  It's interesting what types of different foods are served...  Ate till I almost fell asleep with food comas at both BBQs!!  But oh so yummy, never had traditional cambodian soups or homemade italian sausages!!!  Learned new recipes so hopefully we make some new items!  Feels kinda like "cooking mama"...

Time for another nap...  Good night everyone!

  • Chicago Cubs

    Friday, Oct 5, 2007 2:21AM / Members only

So I'm excited that the Chicago Cubs are the National League Champs...  And it's about time the Cubs make it into the playoffs!

We're the only team that hasn't won the World Series since 1908...  That's a pretty long time consider even the so called cursed Red Sox has even won the title in 2004...

Im really considering that the CHICAGO CUBS are cursed...

    But as the story goes:

"Billy Sianis, a Greek immigrant (from Paleopyrgos, Greece[1]), who owned a nearby tavern (the now-famous Billy Goat Tavern), had two $7.20 box seat tickets to Game 4 of the 1945 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Tigers, and decided to bring along his pet goat, Murphy (or Sinovia according to some references), which Sianis had restored to health when the goat had fallen off a truck and subsequently limped into his tavern. The goat wore a blanket with a sign pinned to it which read "We got Detroit's goat".[2] Sianis and the goat were allowed into Wrigley Field and even paraded about on the playing field before the game before ushers intervened and led them off the field. After a heated argument, both Sianis and the goat were permitted to stay in the stadium occupying the box seat for which he had tickets. At this point, Andy Frain (head of Wrigley Field's hired security company at the time), waved the goat's box-seat ticket in the air and proclaimed "If he eats the ticket that would solve everything."[3]. However, the goat did not. Before the game was over, Sianis and the goat were ejected from the stadium at the command of Cubs owner Philip Knight Wrigley due to the animal's objectionable odor. Sianis was outraged at the ejection and allegedly placed a curse upon the Cubs that they would never win another pennant or play in a World Series at Wrigley Field again because the Cubs organization had insulted his goat, and subsequently left the U.S. to vacation in his home in Greece."

    But only time can tell...

  • My blog has been launched

    Saturday, Aug 18, 2007 12:03AM / Members only

Welcome to my fresh and creative profile!  This is going to my first blog...  It's 11 on a bright and humid morning in the mid-west.

I can hear the jets fly overhead...  The annual Chicago air and water show is this weekend so the jets are completing practice runs by the lake.  So there will be a continuation of noise for the rest of today by the lakefront.

Will and grace is hilarious...  Just watched the one where she wanted a baby with Will and she meets prince charming on the horse...

I will update my blog another time because I am hungry and need to eat my thai papaya salad and instant korean noodles.

    Ciao!
