It's been quite a while since I have updated this blog so apologies for the silence.

Well, the reason is quite simple. Sometimes there's so much work that things have to prioritized over jaw jaw really.

I have been working on another music video for Sajid And The Lost Boys from India.

The premise was very simple, I will get Indian camera guy Husain to shoot Sajid for me while we film the other parts of the video here in Singapore on 16mm film.

The song is called Silent Movies, and I decided to put in my own take that it is about the natural failure all we human beings have when we try to communicate to each other.

Some times, it seems that everyone is speaking in a totally alien language even if we all speak English. To me, its simply that everyone has a different point of view, and that all human beings are unique. But this uniqueness is also both our greatest triumph and tragedy as sentient beings.

After all, if we are all so unlike each other, where do we find the common ground to understand each other?

So this music video is very simple. I have two characters trying to talk to each other through a wall, only catch is, one uses hand shadows while the other dance. That's as if being separated by a wall is not tough enough! But hey don;t you feel sometimes life is like that no matter how close you are to the person?

Anyways, we shot it over the weekend after a long bad and hectic week at the day job.

You can check out some behind the scenes pictures here.

The best part of this shoot is working with the ultra talented Jaye Neo from FreeFlow Productions. Now Jaye and me go back a long way since school days and he has always been a great DOP and cameraman. And this is the first time we are working together again after 6 YEARS!

The whole shoot was great, it was fun, we probably drank way too much but hell, it was worth it and a good break from all the daily shooting I have to do as part of my job.

Best part of it was that Sajid gave me a very nice surprise a week before we were supposed to shoot. The album "Kid Without Candy" actually made it to the top ten of Inidan indie music on none other than Rolling Stone Magazine! Here you can read it here, he is at number 7.Photobucket
I actaully have more behind the scene videos and photos, will try to put them up soon while you chaps wait for he finished product to hit here and everywhere else. I loved the energy and what was done. And I am sure the music video will be exactly how we all intended it.
