I am back from my 2 year Checkup. The doctors told me, my tests were normal. There is one that I took the morning, I had to leave before the results came back. They should call next week with the results. Every time I go there, it is such a sobering experience. I see friends that were still there. I saw so many new faces, and hear of those who did not make it to transplant.

I guess after a trip like mine, I could just forget about those people. Only worry about myself, but I can't. It's those people and the thousands, not met that needs our help. I want to stay strong and stand up for my organ donor. To show him, that the blessing he gave was not in vain. I will start a Foundation, to help every man, woman and child that battles Pulmonary Fibrosis. Today I am, an Activist for a good cause. Bless All.

Two Year Checkup Is Here

I can not believe, how quickly two years have past.

I will be flying to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. I will have tests scheduled, from 8:00am Monday 2-20-12 until Thursday 5:00pm 2-23-12. They will start with blood test, xrays, an EKG. Then I will have a breathing test, Bronchoscopy and Biopsy of my lungs. Next they will check all organs, for possible effects from my medications. Then I will see a Dermatologist, to check for skin cancer. Because my lower immune system, I have 10 time more chance to get it. Finally the Trasplant Team will meet with me, to go over all the results of the tests. If all goes well, I sould be home Thurday night.

Depending on the results, I hope to start my new journey and Foundation. My goal is to make the words, Pulmonary Fibrosis as well known as Cancer. They are both terminal diseases. Anyone can get it, because they do not know what causes Pulmonary Fibrosis. For that we need funds, for research and testing facilities. I would also like to bring Doctors, as good as those at Mayo Clinic to Texas. So we do not have to travel, halfway across the country for quality care. A place where all countries, would be able to come and be treated as well. It is a big journey, but I hope to see it in my lifetime. Until next time, Peace and Blessing to All.

Hello,

I am here today,to let everyone know my plans for 2012. I am posting signs and posters,and meeting with Businessmen. I am telling my story about this fatal disease Pulmonary Fibrosis. With their sponsorship and donations,I should start the foundation in January,2012.

I am planning to have, fundraisers such as 5K & 10K walks, Auctions and Donation drives. With all proceeds going into the foundation. The money will be used for research for a cure, a positive treatment other than transplants, and aid for families to understand and cope.

There is no guarantee on my transplant. There are no years,months,weeks or days. With the time I do have, I want it to be positive. If I could help even one person, to not suffer the pain and misery. We have to find a cure, or a treatment for the future of others. Maybe someone we know? Why I Chose my Pictures

Hello everyone Iam greatful to be here with you. Iam not famous,just a simple man from a small town. I had plans and dreams like everyone in the world. On May 8,2009 my life changed forever. My doctor had ordered a cat scan of my lungs. He told me on my follow up visit that I had "Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis". I had never heard of it, then his next words were"You need to get on a list for a transplant".

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis got it's name,because doctor's do not know what causes you to get it. It does not know age,gender,race or borders. It effects 200,000 of which 40,000 die each year and that's just in the U.S..Unlike Cancer, which I pray for always. There is no Federal Funding,for research,treatments or Public Awareness. As of now, there NO known causes, treatments( other than transplant) or cure for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Life expected without transplant is 2 to 3 years.

Having a transplant is not a cure, I have traded one disease for a number of others. Out of the 27 pills I must take each day. Some will effect my liver, kidneys, calcium in my bones. Since my transplant, I have had 5 compound fractured vertebra in my spine. For me I have new Goals and Dreams. I want to start a Foundation, to raise funds for Education,Research,Medical Supplies,Medicine and Public Awareness.
