So, this is Jinzi writing about what I did today.
Okay, actually it's Mark. But Jinzi asked me to write a blog for her so that's what I'm doing.
Today Jinzi woke up nice and early at 12:30. Or at least that is the time she came out of her room. Maybe she was up since 6:00 going over her form in her head so that she will remember it. Or maybe she is a spy for a renegade eastern-block country and was sending radio signals to her commander-in-chief, letting them know about super-secret wushu training techniques that Mark brought to class on Tuesday night.
But I think she was probably just asleep.
After getting up we watched Shaolin Temple 3, also known as "Martial Arts of Shaolin" or "Nan Bei Shaolin". It was a great movie. According to Jinzi it wasn't quite as good as the second Shaolin Temple movie, but it was pretty darn entertaining. The best part was that one scene with the Chinese people and the shaolin monks doing stuff. That's about as accurate as I can get without Jinzi teling me her favorite scene...
After that it was off to the track for some training. Jinzi ran around the track and then worked on staff stuff. She learned two combination sets, which was pretty impressive. She is pretty smart. (She told me to write that)
Then Jinzi, James and Mark went to go on an eating tour of Berkeley. First the got some Boba Drinks on Solano Avenue, and then it was off to get Jinzi a crepe at crepe's a-go-go on University Avenue. Apparently Jinzi hates American food. Jinzi also doesn't seem to realize that crepes are French.
Then they met back up with Patti who had been teaching Taiji and went to Seasalt where they were joined by Peter, another assistant coach at Wushu West. The food was good, but Jinzi was mostly amazed by Mark's handwriting skillz. She tried to practice handwriting but it ended up looking like something the cat threw up after eating a pen. Well, not that bad, but she sure was intense. After dealing with some delicious food and handwriting frustration Jinzi, Mark and Patti went back to Patti's home where she took a shower and went to bed nice and early.
Tomorrow Mark is leaving so Jinzi is really sad. She actually cried herself to sleep with sorrow because she thinks Mark is so incredibly awesome and it will be devestating for him to leave. Of course Jinzi is leaving on Saturday to the not-quite-as-awesome-East Coast so she better finish up learning her wushu forms quickly or Mark won't be able to be her friend anymore.
Or maybe he will stay her friend and just not let her know, constantly keeping her on her toes and in a constant state of curiosity and anxiety.
Naw .. he'll tell her. She seems kinda cool.
(kinda)
