It is said that around the year 250 BC in ancient China, a prince
of the region north of the country, was the eve of being crowned
emperor, but, according to the law, he should be married.
Knowing that, he decided to do a "dispute" between the girls of
the court or anyone who is thought worthy of your proposal. The
following day, the prince announced that it would receive in a special
celebration, all the suitors and launch a challenge.
An old lady,
servant of the palace for many years, listening to the comments on the
preparations, he felt a slight sadness, because he knew that his young
daughter nurtured a feeling of deep love for the prince. To get home
and report the fact to the young, is amazed to learn that she wanted to
go to conclusion, and asked incredulous:
- My daughter, what you do there? Are these all the more beautiful
rich girls of the court. Take this idea foolish head, I know you must
be suffering, but suffering makes one crazy. And the daughter replied:
- No, dear mother, I am not suffering, much less crazy, I know you
never can be chosen, but it is my chance of getting at least some
moments near the prince, that already makes me happy.
At night, the
couple arrived at the palace. There were, in fact, all the beautiful
girls, with the most beautiful clothes, with the most beautiful jewelry
and the most determined intentions. Then, finally, the prince announced
the challenge:
- I will give to each of you a seed. One that, within six months,
bring me the most beautiful flower, my wife will be chosen and future
empress of China. The proposal of the prince not fled to the deep
traditions of the people that we value the expertise of "grow"
something, are habits, friendships, relationships etc ...
Time passed
and sweet couple, but had not much skill in the arts of gardening,
caring with great patience and tenderness to his seed, because he knew
that the beauty of the flower appear on the same stretch of his love,
she did not need it
worry about the result.
It is three months and nothing came up.
The couple tried everything, using all of the methods I knew, but
nothing was born. Day after day she ever realize her dream further, but
increasingly deep his love. Finally, six months had passed and nothing
has sprouted. Conscious of their effort and dedication the girl
announced to her mother that regardless of the circumstances would
return to the palace, the date and time combination, is it intended
nothing more than a few moments in the company of the prince.
In the
appointment was there with his empty pot, and all the other suitors,
each with a flower more beautiful than the other, the most varied forms
and colors. She was admired, had never witnessed such beautiful scene.
Finally comes the time expected and the prince says each of the suitors
with great care and attention.
After going through all one by one, he
announces the result and shows the beautiful as his future wife. The
people present were the most unexpected reactions. Nobody understood
why he had chosen just that nothing was grown. So the prince calmly
explained:
- This was the only one who cultivated the flower that became
worthy of becoming an empress. The flower of honesty, because all the
seeds that were delivered sterile.
Honesty is like a flower made of yarns of light that illuminates who grows and spreads the light around

all the shameful situations that surround us, can be light to those
around us.
