Weekend to Weekend

I chopped off most of my locks last weekend, and I'm feelin' light and breezy from the neck upwards now... well, I haven't had a chance to do a bit of cam-whorin' yet to show off "the new do"... but when I do, you'll most definitely get to see it here at AnD!

Hmmm, actually I think I look a bit like Madonna now, when she was wearing that Orientally inspired look at one of the Award shows and performing onstage looking a bit like a Japanese doll... I can't seem to remember the title of the song now ...Read more

Sensing a theme goin' on here...

Do you ever have times in your life, when it feels like some higher power is trying to communicate with you, maybe trying to tell you something, but it's just that maybe you're a bit dense and not quite getting the full picture just yet??

Well, I'm feeling that way lately.

Recently, I've been a bit emo and lots grateful to have my friends and family all around me, being like my little personal support group of sorts... and I dedicated the song "Hand In Hand" to them.

Well ...Read more

"Hand In Hand" and another passion, Singing!

Two days ago, I dedicated this song to my friends and family members in Facebook, and I want to share it with everyone here too.

The title of this song is "Shou Qian Shou" or "Hand In Hand".

This is not a new song, in fact it was written to raise awareness about SARS, and it was recorded back in 2003, during the height of the SARS scare throughout Asia.

In "We Are The World" and "Do They Know It's Christmas?" fashion, this song was a maj...Read more

Van Ness Wu's Greatest Hits "In Between" 2002 & 2008

How does one even begin to review Van Ness Wu's latest album "In Between" without going back in time and recalling how it all began for this incredibly talented artist?

"In Between" is supposed to be a "greatest hits" album of sorts... of the 15 tracks in ...Read more

Top Asian Musical Talents: Wang Lee Hom

At the moment, I’m listening to a lot of this guy’s works… Wang Lee Hom.

My love affair with Lee Hom’s music started back in the late 1990s, not long after Lee Hom first started out in the Mandopop market.

I remember popping into Tower Records (when it was at Pacific Plaza) and picking up one of Lee Hom’s earlier Mandopop CDs in my hand… and it was a choice between getting the Lee Hom CD or the Peter Ho CD… unfortunately, at the time, Lee Hom wasn’t exactly what he is today, and I thought Peter Ho sound...Read more

Time Flies

Time flies... we are now 6 months into the year 2008, and what have I been doing all this time?

Mostly, I've been working... actually, come to think of it, I spend a heckuva lot of time just working... then of course, there's all the usual stuff people tend to do everyday just to keep on living... then there's travel time... gosh, just surviving and going from day to day takes up a lot of time, doesn't it?

But other than that, I've done a few events with the Star Wars/Movie Mania folks... more to come in the 2nd...Read more

Experiencing A Musical Revival

I believe I may have actually written my very first song today!

What a RUSH!!!

I have never written a song in my life before, even though I've always played music, enjoyed singing and listening to songs... but this morning was something special, something different... I've read dozens of times about professional song-writers who just compose songs within minutes... like George Michael who apparently wrote "Careless Whisper" whi...Read more

Now, I'm A Believer!

In one of my earlier entries, dated 10 May 2008, entitled "Listen To Your Heart", I spoke of how a song helped to save me from out of a deep dark spot in my life then... and I mentioned a certain "Earth Angel"... well, whether you wanna believe it or not, here's what happened the next time I listened to that same song... I know I could hardly believe it myself, but this is ALL TRUE!

The date was 31 May 2008. It was 9.30pm and I was sitting in my living room. I had my laptop in front of me, and was doin...Read more

My Passions In Life - Music Lover

Since I started this blog at Alive Not Dead, my entries have been about random things, as and when it occurs to me to want to blog about them. Well, in an earlier entry, I mentioned about how much music means to me. I think it's safe to say that music is easily my first love, and I'm a very passionate music lover! I have a shelf full of CDs in my room, and lots more all over the place, even a few CDs that I bring to work to listen to.

My love affair with music began as far back as I can remember. There's ...Read more

We found him!

In my last blog entry, our cat was lost... but last nite, he came home to us... safe and sound... a little traumatized and a little skinnier than before... but alive nonetheless... yeah, alive not dead... thanks to the kind people who have been taking care of him for the past week... he's been missing since 13 May 2008, so he's been away from home for 18 days... and these good people say they only got him about a week ago, and that he was found in the multi-storey carpark near my apartment block.

Will say more another time... ju...Read more
