I haven't had a new pic on my profile for a long long time.....
I went out the other day with my folks to a cafe in Cityplaza, Taikoo Shing for lunch and while chatting my dad, with his new Nikon D700 inadvertently snapped a pic of me whilst we were talking....

Need to say, I was thrilled! It's been a long time coming!!!! XD

Just thought to write about a few of my thoughts these last few days.
As I write this, five days have passed since the Olympics. With the closing of the ceremony......which has been one of the most brilliant and fantastic ones ever shown for a LONG while....China has shown the world that it can perform (with the gold medal wins)....and that it can truly host. Taking the last 7 years to prepare, plan and coordinate, everybody whoever went to the Olympics said they had a fantastic time. From accomodation down to the foods which were prepared for the athletes, the government had specially arranged that the foods the guests ate, the facilities they used and the air they breathed, were of the highest standard.
As my family watched at home on TV like millions of others around the world this marvellous spectacle coming to a close, we could not help but get emotional and shed a tear for our home mother country China. Through the Olympics and the gold medal wins, it had really come a long way this Sunday. China, my mother country, (like an old friend one is familiar with), had been through a lot in its past history to get to where it is today. And looking back to what happened then (with the Nanjing Massacre, Great Leap Forward) and today.....one can only be proud as a Chinese. Because to us we see the winning of the medals carries many meanings......and its not just because we happen to also like gold! The wins and Olympics seem to have helped quench a thirst that has been around for a long time for anyone who is Chinese....that we thought we were not good at sports as a nation....and it feels good it has been quenched at last!
That's not to say I also don't have hopes for the next Olympics.....for London. Watching the closing ceremony where the Chinese rep handed over the flag to the IOC president then to Boris Johnson the mayor of London, I could not help but feel pride for Londoners too. For more than 30 years Britain had been home for my family and for 25, London WAS (and still in many ways IS) my hometown....so I did feel a lump in my throat when I saw the British flag go up the pole. But it was sort of drowned out by that mundane looking bus-stop and the dreary looking grey clothing and umbrellas haha! Despite the challenges that lay ahead (where some Londoners have said their games cannot match the financial might of the Olympics in Beijing) I have every faith that London will do a good job. It will be huge confidence boost for the country and do wonders for the economy, especially tourism.
The Funniest Moments In The Olympics (for me)
I managed to catch two funniest moments at this years Olympics. The first one was
when the Chinese press discovered that some American websites were publishing that the US was top of the league table. US press was stating the total number of medals they had in possession vs. the Chinese (and generally accepted view by the sporting world) of the number of gold, silver and bronze medals won. While not illegal, it certainly raised a few eyebrows......
The second funniest moment in the Olympics was when me and my bro saw there was this Japanese guy getting ready for the polevault. The difference was.....this guy had shades! We saw this smug guy had his sunglasses on even when he was going to run......so imagine our surprise when as he ran, we saw him go up with the pole....flip over......and crash right into the bar at the top! Poor guy....the chap looked like a right prat......and we just couldn't contain our laughter! What happened was just too funny hahaha! ;0
I think the 2012 Olympics are gonna be interesting to say the least :)

I came across this the other day.
The bottom heel and the bits around the shoe can clip on, turning the shoe from a low-heeled shoe into a high-heeled one.

Are these the most advanced ladies shoes on the market? :D

*UPDATED*
As for transforming shoes, there are also these too:
