Kiwi in Korea 15 - Graffiti, coke and dvd players

Howdy all

It's Summer Camp and so I though I would share one of my High School summer class projects.   The back wall of the English room is seriously boring so I thought some Graffiti art would cheer it up and that it might be something the students would enjoy doing.

one prior teacher did try with these letters that are supposed to spell ENGLISH ZONE but they fall off all the time.  the designer  Finished!

All done by the students, design, choice of colour etc, I thought they did well.

On a random note I have never liked the taste of coke but every few years I will feel like one and it will be satisifying.  Lately I have been feeling like it all the time (and indulging it).  Ew, thankfully the craving is subsiding.

I bought a new dvd player (recording and VSH combo) yeehaa in Daegu on the weekend (Daegu is great and cheaper than Busan), now I just need to take it to my class room and set it up there, my current telly is old and the menu instructions are all in Korean and I can't figure it out.  doh  I also bought The Forbidden Kingdom on DVD, woot I will finally get to see it.

as for my personal situation I miss Kahurangi and I'm lonely without her, I am also not wanting to go back to the Middle School.  I still enjoy the High School, I still feel torn and I'm still applying for jobs in NZ (keeping my options open) and I don't want to let the students and teachers down....   gah gah gah

What is K is up to at home? I'd feel like a part of me was missing if I were deprived of my girls for very long. Feeling like, 'something's not right,' but mine are much younger than K. I'm sure she's fine but missing u too.

Your high school students look like they're fun, happy, and eager. This must be a tough decision for you! Good luck and thanks, as always, for sharing. Forbidden Kingdom on DVD? Lucky...we have to wait until Sept. =D

I don't have kids so I can't say much, but I know what it's like to miss family member. As I am sure most of your fellow teachers and the students will know. I'm sure if you return to New Zealand earlier than expected, they will all understand. Take it a day at a time.

Your students are lucky to have a great teacher like you who's always coming up with fun and creative learning activities. They're pretty artistic too :)

I developed a taste for Coke thanks to my husband who loves the stuff. I try to limit my intake though. How often do you manage to talk to Kahurangi? Is she doing okay at home? I bet she misses you terribly too. I know you're torn but you have to do what you feel is best for you ultimately.
