Hope the birthday bash goes well. Will be thinking of you all! Tried to make a video for youtube on my camera but couldn't convert it or upload it as most of the programmes on this computer are in Korean. Never mind it wasn't very good anyway.
Some of you asked for photos so here goes:
to start with my old home (after we moved out), my dad's fat cows (they are "Belted Galloways" a heritage breed) and Tahunanui (my beach)
Here is the view from our motel window in Jangyu, and our first Korean meal - Kimbob (I don't know how it is spelt, please feel free to correct me).
I do love the hilly (mountainous) landscape here. It is very beautiful. I find it hard to drink anything labelled sweat!
This monday is a public holiday here for Budda's Birthday - these colourful lanterns were strung all down the streets of Chang Won, they looked very festive and pretty.
The Korean English teachers and I go out to lunch on the day I arrive. These ladies are wonderful, they have been extremely helpful and kind.
Kahurangi sits in my bedroom window, no curtains or blinds, just an extra set of frosted windows to shut for privacy. I can also touch the ceiling but standing on tip toes, in my last place I couldn't touch the ceiling standing on a chair (it was an old house with a stupidly high stud).
Views from my balcony, setting sun, school and mountain out of rear window. This mountain is great It means I can get my bearings in this town easily.
The English room is the bottom story of the building behind the pine trees, my apartment building (I'm on the 5th floor and there is no elevator - which will be good for my fitness) is hidden by the trees and buildings on the right.
I appreciate all your kind comments and good advice from my last blog. Kahurangi has agreed to give it ago for three months and she is going to try the local school. Hopefully in three months we will feel much better about things. Currently I can only focus one week at a time or I tend to start freaking out again.
Righto, now I'm online I'm off to catch up on your blogs
