It did for the 1st several days after surgery ... they gave me hydrocodone + tylenol (aka Vicodin) for the pain, but I couldn't take the full dosage, and smaller dosage STILL made me nauseous :(

See?  That's where it just gets silly to me.  We sell Eskimo Pies here in the states (white ice cream with a chocolate coating).  The wrapper was a winter scene depicting an Eskimo/Inuit and was just trying to convey "this cold and refreshing. You'll feel like you're whisked away to a winter wonderland."  No insult intended.

We are adopting the preferred name Inuit for that group but it'll take education and yes, even arguments about stuff like this.  So these debates do have value even if I don't agree with the objector's point.

Until I just looked it up I never really knew that usage of Kiwi and Kiwifruit was sore point with New Zealanders.  That's an easy one to avoid.  But in the US I don't remember ever seeing Kiwifruit for sale, just Kiwis.  The NZ farmers who changed the name from Chinese Gooseberries to Kiwifruit may not have seen that coming but we always shorten words whenever we can.

Thanks for your response.  I may have taken the heat too quickly.

I'm pretty much known amongst my friends as a bleeding heart liberal.  I don't have a problem with that if that means I think about my fellow man even when it might negatively effect me.

I just pull back at times which then my liberal friends don't understand.  Maybe it's more visceral than intellectual but, for example, even during the height of the feminist movement I could never stop myself from saying "I'm going for a cup of coffee.  Want some?"   It seemed silly and counter productive to labor a point that ran afoul of simple civility.  The Native American / team issue is another one I just can't embrace.  I have tried, but having had this discussion, I'll try again.  I have been known to change my mind.

As for stuff hitting close to home, I always say about the Republicans in the US that they're really closet liberals.  They become "liberal" as soon as a matter hits close to home.  No abortions!---until my daughter gets pregnant and won't get to go to the college of her choice.  No government intervention in the family!!!---until my daughter marries a Saudi guy who wants to take the kids to SA.  No universal health care----until I have to lay off half my work force and they all turn to me for help.

Sorry for going off like that on Republicans!   The debates in this country are so polarizing and I just got done with the newspapers.  Crazy.  They can't even talk to each other.  Democrats are idiots too.  Can't compromise.  About ANYTHING.  Tow the party line, get elected, accomplish nothing.

Hey Jaine, at least we can talk.  Know why?  Cause we're better than all of THEM.  lol

haha about the comment - I reported it but didn't delete it!  What a desperate marketing scheme.  What, do Western ladies go to China and do the tango with this guy?  Talk about desperate.

That German fringe benefit.  Sheesh.  Crazy.
