    These photos were initially posted with a blog.  You may have heard Shorty mention this issue before too.  When you use the term kiwi you are talking about a rare endangered flightless bird that has iconic status in NZ.   We are very proud of this cute but shy and hardly ever seen bird, so much so people who call NZ home (or once did) are also called Kiwis.   Please don't refer to kiwifruit as simply kiwi, I can't tell you how offensive it is.  It is not hard to remember to say fruit at the end.

    Lovely photos Jaine. The kakapo is gorgeous, I've never seen one before.  Or a kea. I love nature.
