Just came back from a 4-day-3-night camp on Sunday night. It was a camp on the theme of water conservation. Wow, I must admit that though it was not a camp with a lot of comfort, it was definitely fun and enjoyable in its own ways. Throughout the camp, we exercised water rationing, meaning that there was no water for the whole day except at designated hours of the day. All water sources, mainly the water taps in the washrooms or other places were cut off. Of course, we had free access to drinking water. The whole idea was that we were supposed to carry on our daily activities compromising with the lack of water. Everyday, I bathed on just half pail of water. It was the first time in my life bathing with cold water from a scoop instead of the familar warm water from a shower head. I would say it was not as terrible as I'd imagined.

Moreover, it was also my first time taking part in a residential camp as a facilitator rather than the same old participant I'd been all along during all other camps. Trust me, the experience of a camp facilitator is a whole world of difference from that of a camp participant. In some ways, I enjoy leading people and also hope to inspire them at the same time. It is really rewarding and satisfying at the end of the day. Before I forget, I must comment that my group members, the 8 of them,(camp participants from different secondary schools ages between 13 to 15) were simply lovable. We had a great time together.

Love water, save it before it's too late!

  • Rock the skates!

    Tuesday, Jun 16, 2009 11:58PM / Members only

Went out with the friend which I met on Saturday during YOG Volunteers'Day. We went to East Coast Park and had a great time together.

The scenery was not bad. The unfortunate thing was that I forgot to bring my cap and the fortunate thing was that the Sun was not very blazing. If not, I'd been burnt by now...

We played in-line skating. I had a bit of background in that, but my friend was a total beginner. Actually, I'm not very good at it either. Still, I had to coach my friend. In order to keep in balance, she held on me most of the time. Though she dragged me to fall on my backside, it was so funny and somehow "enjoyable" for the both of us to fall together. We nearly laughed our lungs out. Those people who saw us fall were laughing at us instead of helping us to get back on out feet. Lol.  At any rate, it was an extraordinary experience I thought. Haha.

All in all, I'm really thankful to have known a friend like her, hope our friendship will last for a very very very long time, forever? =)

  • New Haircut

    Tuesday, Jun 16, 2009 12:57AM / Members only

Had been keeping my hair for 3 months already, but I decided to cut it after all. So had my new haircut at one of the many Japanese Quickcut salons. This was my first time trying out a speedy haircut. I used to have the impression that a speedy haircut won't do a perfect job, but somehow I guess it was not that bad at all. Take a look at my new haircut and judge it for yourself then.

  • YOG Volunteers' Day

    Saturday, Jun 13, 2009 8:24PM / Members only

It was such a great day today. I went for the YOG volunteers' Day. It was simply awesome. I really enjoyed myself throughout the whole event. For some of you who are wondering what's YOG all about, here are some introductory information about it.

YOG stands for "Youth Olymic Games", it is created specially for the youth (between 14 and 18 years of age). The first Games will take place in Singapore in August 2010. Thus, as a youth in Singapore, I am extremely excited about it, and awefully wanting to take part in this historic event. Of course, I'm talking about being invovled as a volunteer, since I'm aldready over-age plus the fact that I can't play any sport or at least not good at any. Anyway, for more information, you may log on to www.singapore2010.sg. Haha=)

Okay, back to the event, there was one thing that I would like to highlight: I made a new friend! I just met her today and we are not like really good friends! We took lots of photos and played many games together. Really can't imagine how my day would be like without her companion. Thank God for that=)

    Today was such a bliss...

  • Class Outing

    Friday, Jun 12, 2009 9:24PM / Members only

I was supposed to wake up at 7 am this morning, but when I opened my eyes, it showed 8:14 on my phone. Darn, I was going to be late for the class outing at Sentosa Island. The class would be gathering at the train station at 9. It would take me at least 45 minutes of travelling. So, forget about going with the class.

Well, I reached the beach at 11 plus. Needless to say, I came the latest. Anyway, it did not make much a difference I guess. Some of the guys were playing beach volleyball while the rest were going down to the water when I just arrived. Of course, for someone like me, who doesn't  want to get dark or wet, there will always be some kind of important task for me to do --- looking after everyone's belongings.  However, I did make use of the chance to take photos too. The scenery was just so beautiful, really loved the clouds, the trees and definitely, the sea.

Not forgetting, my classmates were really sweet, they held a mini birthday celebration for June Babes at the beach. Thank you all, truly appreciated!

Take a look at some of the photos taken by me, not professional though.
