  • Corporate shoot in Bahrain

    Tuesday, Oct 21, 2008 4:58PM / Standard Entry

I was suddenly called to do a corporate shoot in Bahrain, a country in the middle of the Persian Gulf, about 1000 square Kilometer and had a population of 650,000, basically an island with a connection to Saudi Arabia.

  • Some photos from Indonesia

    Monday, Sep 22, 2008 6:19PM / Standard Entry

Some photos from my recent trip to Indonesia, the coldness at 2,700m view point at Bromo, the cat in the volcanic area, the village under Ijin volcano, the view half way up Ijin, the sulphur miner who carried 79kg per trip...the director on horseback, Mark the soundman of exploration, me under the mask...

  • Ijin Volcano

    Sunday, Sep 14, 2008 10:38PM / Standard Entry

The Ijin Volcano is not as high as the Bromo, but climbing the volcano walking into the crater was not easy as it takes three full hours of up and down for each trip. The worst part if the sulphur gas continued steamed from the crater is very toxic and we need to wear breathing mask and googles which made us hard to work and climb. We climbed the top of volcano three times in the two days of filming. The water in the crater lake below is highly acidic. We also found a river where we could film the scientist Clive testing it. • The Bromo Volcanoes at 2,700m

    Saturday, Sep 13, 2008 9:47PM / Standard Entry

We reached the Bromo volcanoes at 2,700m altitude in Java, Indonesia. I used a varicam with canon lenses and a mini jib from Miller. To get the best positions for the sunrise shoot we had to start the call time at 0230 and used three 4x4 4-drive jeeps to arrive close to the location and then start climbing in the dark, the jib and tripod are all in positions by 0400. We filmed until 1100 and change location to another volcano nearby , but this time we need to cimb on top of it to see the crater, so we rode on horses to help us most of the way and climbed the last 200 steps on foot.
