I know there are more Asians in movies and Tv than there used to be , but are they still under represented?

Even when Bruce Lee did Enter The Dragon they felt they needed and American actor to be in the starring role as well. I am a white American as well, but disagree with that. I think the trailer for the movie alone would have brought in the same amount of fans. And they could have at least found someone better than John Saxon to add to the cast. I mean I like John, but there are a lot more actors with better martial arts ability than him. Adn I know they added Kelly so they could bring in the black fans. I think Kelly should have been the one to live till the end. Bruce also lost out on the role in Kung Fu because he was too asian. (Can you imagine how great the show would have been with Bruce in the lead?) But come on David Carradine as an even part asian! Even though the show was pretty good it will never be taken that seriously because of this. I think Bruce Lee did more for the Asian community than anyone. He is still on covers of magazine today. I don't know why there are not more Asians carrying movies here in America. I think with the right roles and directors it would be a great addition to the superstars of TV & movies. SOme have opened the doors even wider like Jet Li, Jackie Chan (Rush Hour was a great way.), Michelle Yeoh, Kelly Hu, etc.... I think this is only the beginning for the Asian actors and performers. The future looks bright just give the ones who have the talent a shot. How about American Idol? Not enough Asians seem to try out that I have seen. I am a fan of the old Samurai movies & the martial arts movies so I have grown up on these great actors & actresses. I even thought Phillip Rhee was going to give Jackie & Jet a run for their money. He was great on the Best of The Best movies. But I don't know what happened to him. Maybe he did not get enough publicity for the movies and they did not make enough money. I own them all! Any way what the future holds I do not know, but I hope it is more starring roles for the Asian community.
