Announcement

  • Because from my birth until five years old, I have been living on a sailing boat around the world with my family, from the core of my heart, my birth country is this whole World. Later in France, I made long scientific studies and during some years I worked as expert in environmental protection. However, since many years now I dedicate most of my time to Tibetan Buddhism and I became recently a translator, from Tibetan to French, for the Buddha's teachings.

  • Women in Buddhism

    Monday, Apr 28, 2008 4:24PM / Members only

As I am a translator of Buddhist texts and also a woman, it seems to me that to honour the Buddhist women is one of my responsibility.
Indeed we know very few things about the women in Buddhism because the translators and the historians were always especially men.
Several women have already asked me to write on women in Buddhism because they need this support for their spiritual practice.
Henceforth, I shall examine this subject and I shall present the results here.

To begin here is an image of the Zen nun Nandala that I found in the following link: http://www.geocities.com/zennun12_8/

  • Bouddha's teachings and modern scientific theories

    Monday, Apr 7, 2008 3:33PM / Members only

The Buddha's teachings are not only very deep but also very detailed. A section of it , the Abhidharma, describes our world and beings which populates it. More than 2500 years in the past, the Buddha gave explanations onto the body, the sensory powers, the consciousness, and other subjets that we think of being recent discoveries. He also taught on the creation of the worlds and on their structure.
The way the worlds were created is close to our modern scientific theories but as regards its structure we are very remote from what a common individual can experiment. Nevertheless if we work enough on our own spirit we shall perceive that the world can appear differently from what we believe to be an unchanging reality. Furthermore, a student with an opened mind will discover with delight that the descrīption of the outside world is a detailed descrīption of the physical but also subtle human body: the precious human diamond body.
