Friends & Fans Remember Anita Mui

On the date of the 45th lunar birthday of late Canto-pop goddess Anita Mui (梅艷芳) yesterday, TVB recorded a special celebration show of her achievements and invited many of her friends and fans to share the occasion. As well as musical performances from Andy Hui, Remus Choi, Patrick Tam, Edmond Leung, Alice Lau, Samuel Pang and Stephanie Cheng, there were also messages and tributes from her showbiz colleagues and a display of some costumes and personal items once owned by Anita. Ahead of the show, the president of Anita's charitable trust, Ms Irene So, presented a cheque for HK$300,000 to Lee Si Kei, who received the funds on behalf of a cancer research charity.

Oh, man! I still miss Anita so much.  She was one of the most talented actresses ever.  Thank goodness she will forever be remembered on film.

She had so much talent!  She could play drama and be as funny, if not funnier, than Lucille Ball.

Having people help raise money for cancer research in her name is indeed a great honor and a great boost for cancer research.

Anita Mui will always be remembered no matter what. She brought herown style to the HK Entertainment industry and you can't help but enjoy either her music, movies or both.

I think Remus said it well. June 23rd is Anita Mui day in San Francisco.
