We have the Doll's Festival on 3rd March in Japan. It's the day to pray for health growth and happiness for girls. It's also called Momo-no-Sekku. (It means Peach Festival) Most families wish girls display dolls called Hina-ningyo.The dolls depict the imperial court. They are dressed in beautiful ancient court costume.

I made the Origami Hina dolls.

I like to make Origami crafts. Recently I am making Origami roses (Kawasaki rose) for Leslie. :-)

I love your origami Hina dolls.  A friend of mine who lived in Japan for a few years presented me with 2 similar origami dolls and I have them displayed in a wall box with a shoji screen back.  I have had them for 25 years, now.  I also love doing origami, though I have not done any in recent years.  I am glad that you folded some roses for Leslie.  I know he loved roses and Japanese culture.  They are a fitting tribute.
