Farid Assalam is a Singapore Based Theatre Actor who has been actively involved in Drama eversince he was 6.
He got intrested into acting during his first drama production when he was 6 years old, starring as the frog prince in The Frog Prince in a school Production.
The trainings that he recieves as an actor are the experiences that he gain through working with the people he meets along the way.
One of the major Professional Musical Production for him that he starred in as "Farouk", is the musical called "It's My Life! The Musical" a musical about teens, for teens, by teens.
Produced by Tan Kheng Hua and directed by Lim Yu-Beng from Spare Room ptd ltd. He also had the privilege of working with acclaimed Singapore based Musician/Song Writer/composer, Bang Wenfu and sang a song "Paper Jam" written for his character by local front man of Electrico, Dave Tan.
Despite his angsty grunge teenage punk rock image, with piercings and tattoos everywhere, he is a versatile actor who can take up diffrent character roles that dosent involve around his physical looks.
Besides being an actor, Farid also completed a script writing workshop with local playwriter, Desmond Sim who he is also currently working with, on a script for Temasek Polytechnic's upcomming Musical Production.
He is also a cross disciplinary theatre student in Temasek Polytechnic, thought by local theatre practictioner Sonny Lim.
Farid also aspires to be a Film and Theatre Director/Producer in the future in hopes of putting his ideals and perspective into his future work.
Beyond the arts, Farid is also a Senior Consultant and Liasons Manager for "Keep Youths Alive", a business entity and Movement to motivate and inspire youths who are faced with difficulties and challenges in life.
Some of the other skills that he posses are hosting, Singing and Voice Impersonations which includes diffrent ethnic slangs, cartoon characters etc.
