• Congratulations to the top 5 winners of the Linkin Park band search

  The competition is now over and Linkin Park has 5 bands to choose from. Well done to all of the finalists. The final result is really suprising and good to see that some Hong Kong Indie bands made the top 5. Really wish that we had more votes than we had gotten, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Sorry for sounding so pessimistic in the last blog, it's just because I was personally abit upset that it looked like we had so many votes and then had been penalised so badly, especially when there is a chance that some votes may have been legitimate. You never know.

  So I apologise personally because it may not be the position of all the band members. I am just a whining little bitch and should use my own blog to bitch about stuff.

  All of the bands deserve to be in there and we just have to work harder on our music so that we can increase our fanbase. That way we don't have to rely on friends to support us. That is the dream. But thankyou to all of our fans and friends who did support us. We do have a bigger fanbase than was represented in the voting, but unfortunately not enough of them use alivenotdead (or can be bothered to, haha).  Though, I know alot of people who have joined AnD just to support us. It is great. It is hard to believe that great bands like The Love Song and Chochuckmo have less than ten votes each. At least we scored what we did.

• Message to Linkin Park + VOTE for FBI

  Hi All,

  Firstly, vote FBI because we want to be in the top 5 so that LP can choose us to play at their concert. 'Cos we know if we get the chance to be in the top5 that LP will like us and we will end up onstage at the Venetian.

  Anyway, I just wanted to talk briefly about something...

  I was really happy on Wednesday night when we were in the top 5 of the votes for the Linkin Park band search. But since then my hopes and dreams have crumbled because we have had over 100 votes taken off us... or that's what it seems.

  Of course I was a little bit shocked to find this out when I jumped onto the computer last night. So, I contacted the guys from alivenotdead to see what was the problem. I already know that some votes were taken off some of the other bands because people were making duplicate accounts, but I thought that wouldn't affect us at all. I can't imagine anyone trying to make false accounts just so we can get more votes.

  According to the alivenotdead boys, somebody/ies made some duplicate accounts and voted for us many many times. Now, if this really is dodgy and it was one person doing this, they must be a really really fanatic fan. Thank you for being such a die hard fan. But, what I wanted to say is that we don't condone this kind of behaviour. We want to be in the top 5 with real votes from real people.

  But, there is a possibility that some legitimate accounts are being flagged as duplicate accounts because they are coming from the same computer and/or using the same password. Who knows! Anyway, we have been bumped out of the top 5 because of it.

  This is our last ditch effort to get some more votes. We need you now. If you haven't voted already, please consider us. Watch our videos/read our blogs and listen to our music. It should help you to decide.

  This is a small note Linkin Park-

  Dear Linkin Park,

  All of us guys think that you are awesome and we would really like to be your openning band for the show in Macau. Unfortunately, because of the voting system the top 5 bands for you to choose from may not be the best band to have as your openning act. It just means that that person has more friends than the rest, not necessarily fans. Out of the top 5 bands to choose from of course 24 Herbs would be my bet to play with you guys. I love them alot! But, they are already a commercial band who has had many oppurtunities in the past. Sorry 24 herbs, but please give one of the Indie bands a chance to play with LP. If we can't be that band then please think about choosing Killersoap as they are my number 1 pick. It's funny I should say this as they have been our competitors and rivals so many times over, sometimes they have gotten the upper hand in a comp and sometimes we have won against them. It just makes me respect them more, plus Rocky has an awesome voice, much better than mine. haha... but who knows, there is two days left and by some miracle we might be back in the top 5, but I doubt it. And if we are please consider us as we will give you the show you have been looking for. You just got to look at our live music videos to see what we can offer. And even if we don't win, maybe your record label could pick us up?

• Vote for us- Linkin Park contest

  We all know that there is a competition to see who will be Linkin Park's openning band. Well, here is my short pitch at why you should vote for us.

  I think you should vote for FBI because we are fun loving, crazy, down to earth and energetic rockers. You want a band that is going to suit Linkin Park's style. I think that we have a great combination of music and stage presence that would go well with Linkin Park. Or do you want to hear one of the more Poppier bands?

  We play rock, pop, punk and even have a little bit of rap. There is something for everybody.

  We are one white guy and three chinese guys that prove to you that music is the universal language.

  Why do we want to play for them? Well, every shitty little local band wants to have the chance to support another band of high calibre. We haven't had this oppurtunity before and we would really like to be able to get more exposure through it.

  I want to do this gig so much that I am willing to cut my holidays short (as I am now holidaying in Australia) so that I can go to the show. How many other bands have to sacrifice that?

  We have been a player with alivenotdead since it's conception and we have almost 120,000 views on our webpage. That must account for something, right? We must be doing something right.

• STAGE-TUBE

  In the last blog I failed to mention that we had visited STAGE-TUBE sometime in June to record two live music videos.

  What is STAGE-TUBE?

  STAGE-TUBE is a platform for bands and musicians in Hong Kong and nearby regions to show off their talents and to promote their music.

  What is the video quality?

  HD quality

  Which songs did you record?

  We recorded two of our more familiar songs, 'The Masquerade' and 'Man Love!'. We had never recorded a live music video before and this was definately a lot of fun. It has a very interesting process in creating a live music video.

  Are they really live recordings?

  Yes they are! First we recorded the song live and that covered the sound and the main cameras. Then we played the song again (pretended to play) while the techs got some close-up shots. So, whenever you see us close-up we are actually miming it, but they do such a good job that you can't notice it.

  If I am in a band can I record a live music video at STAGE-TUBE?

  If you have a band and are interested in doing a STAGE-TUBE video then you should contact these guys at . I would recommend this to anyone as it is good experience and lots of fun to do. The guys there are really professional and do a great job. Be warned though, there is a rumour that there is a 3 month waiting list, so you better get emailing them now.

• It's been a long time since blogging last

  Hi All,

  It's been awhile since we last blogged, and that is due to the fact that there hasn't been much going on in the FBI camp of late. So, what's happened in the meatime?

  We played a show at the Hang Out for teenagers. You know we always like to do All-Ages gigs so that more of our fans can come. They are usually on the wilder side too, except this night it was pretty tame.

  We participated in teh final for the M1 Bar competition and unfortunately we didn't win. We put on an impressive performance that had all of our fans coming up to us to say, "You have got it in the bag!" (meaning we would likely win). All of these people built up our egos so much that we thought we were going to win, then were shocked in the end when they called out 'Peri M'. Well done to Peri M. I think their style more suited what the judges were after. I can't compete against a female vocalist, she'll beat me hands down. lol!

  So, what since? We were supposed to play at the LKF Beerfest... but they cancelled all of the bands due to the rain on the Saturday we were meant to play. The rain stopped about 4pm and then it was a beautful day, but they didn't ask us back to play. So, we are so sorry for any inconvenience. We were so excited to play this show, but ohwell.

  So, what's next? I am going to Australia soon for a couple of weeks and when I come back we are going to work on a few new songs. We need to work really hard so that we have a few new songs ready before we play next. We think it is about time. There is one song in particular that I am really looking forward to that Archvictor has composed. It is going to be another hard and fast song with all the inbetweens.
