Hello there!

It's been a while I haven't posted here
I'm still very busy on FilmsActu. Right now, I'm just back from the Deauville American Film Festival, hehe. It wasn't precisely vacation since we had to do a daily show on our webTV, plus watching dozens of movies (to comment them on the TV show), having interviews and press conferences, and so on... Journalism routine. But it was fun and interesting.

Saw many movies stars too : Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Spacey, Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, William Hurt... I had little "red carpet" interviews with them (except the two first mentionned). YES, girls : including Viggo 

As for the movies, my favourite from the competition was Alan Ball's Towelhead. I also loved Tom McCarthy's The Visitor (the one which won the great prize) and Christine Jeff's Sunshine Cleaning.
I also liked the Documentary selection, especially Lake of Fire and Made in America.
As for the premieres, Recount was probably one of the best.
Also, there was quite an interesting scandal around Gregory Wilson's The Girl Next Door, like some people becoming quite aggressive during and after the screening. Just because they weren't prepared to what they would see. But it almost became violent, like a guy yelling during the screening : "it's a snuff movie!!!". During the interview we had with him, the director told us that he and his producer had to leave the theater surrounded by security guards... can you believe that?

My sister Caroline and I, who work for FilmsActu.com, had last month an interview with Ang Lee about Lust, Caution.
The interview took place in the area of the Champs Elysées and lasted about 45 minutes. It went very well, Ang Lee is very interesting to listen to. And I'm quite happy with the result on the video.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!! I wish you all the best for 2008 :-)

Holidays were great for me, spending time with family, eating a lot, sleeping a lot... as usual. Paris weather is a bit frustrating : not nice but not really cold either. Yesterday we had to  be careful when walking on the street because there was a very thin layer of ice on the ground. When I told my physiotherapist that I almost slipped several times on the ground while walking, she told me "yeah, we're gonna have lots of work in a two or three weeks." - thinking about all the people who might have fallen and broken an arm or a wrist, and who will need reeducation in two or three weeks...

Anyway, I just caught a cold so I don't feel very good today. Let's hope it won't last too long.

Hi everyone !

Has anyone seen Blade Runner Final Cut ? I believe it should be released in the US on 18th december only. We'll have it on 5th december, hehe.

And tell me what you think of this Final Cut whenever you get a chance to see it. I think it's the best version ever, combining the 1992 Director's Cut with the violent sequences from the 1982 International version. Also, the 5-DVD gives the opportunity to see the Workprint version...

Definitely one of the best science fiction movie ever !

Let's do a bit of advertising ! :-)

A new French website about cinema has been launched on the Internet beginning October : Films Actu.
In fact, we can only see the beta version right now, the "official" one being launched in a couple of weeks, supported by quite a big campaign. So be prepared to hear of Films Actu and its fabulous journalists team – which Caroline and myself happen to be part of ! – very soon, hehe.

What is Films Actu ? If there are French videogame players here, they might know a website called Jeux Actu (www.jeuxactu.com). Well, as you might have guessed, Films Actu is kind of the "cinema" version of Jeux Actu and belongs to the same company (Mixicom). On Films Actu, you'll find movie reviews, DVD tests, interviews, news, previews and many articles about directors, movie stars and many other subjects. Films Actu talks about all genres of cinema (there will probably be a lot about action flicks, though) from all around the world.
Soon a WebTV will be launched too, with... well, you'll see when it's launched! :-)
If you take a look at Jeux Actu, you'll have a good idea of what Films Actu will probably look like in a few months.

A question might have risen in your minds: what about Dvdrama.com, the website Caroline and I were working for? Well, we are both officially leaving Dvdrama.com at the beginning of next month, following former chief editor at Dvdrama, Arnaud Calistri, who became chief editor at Films Actu. We are not the only ones; you'll find several "ex-dvdramiens" (Arnaud Mangin, Yann Rutledge, Sabrina Piazzi…) among our journalists.

Again, it's still a beta version so there might be a few bugs. Building everything is lots of work but it's so exciting !
