  • Spring/Summer's here!

    Friday, Apr 24, 2009 12:37AM / Standard Entry

In Singapore, it's practically summer all year round. But the past few weeks have seen us SIngaporeans vicariously living through the seasons with a few launches for the Spring/Summer collection of many different brands. In a nutshell, one of them was the Marc Jacobs award-winning fragrance 'Daisy' which I hosted over the weekend. Great, refreshing scent.
And of course, the Gucci event which had the most amazing colours on the runway. It was held at The Capella Singapore, gorgeous vintage hotel, with a colonial black/white feel to it. The theme was tropical, and abiding the dress code excitedly, I came decked out but everyone else was mostly in black! It was hilarious but I came, left and caught up with friends as a happy, colourful camper.

Then the Crocs Launch held recently which I went with a few FLY artistes. Never followed their designs till recently and the new range is something to look out for people.

More pics in the events album! Will be doing a script read at the beautiful Esplanade Theatre on Monday 27th April for 'Theatre Idols'. It's set to be one exciting evening, with a comedy script I'm reading entitled 'The Vampire Monologues' up against another serious contender. Come on down if you're up for a night of theatre....

  • Turning it Off!

    Tuesday, Mar 24, 2009 4:44PM / Standard Entry

    Hey Girls & Boys,

It's been everywhere, advertised on billboards, bus-stops etc. The big 60.
Honestly, doing couple of interviews on this cause has got me more involved, educated and enlightened about the little things we can do. I use to fret at the big stuff, but simple things like switching off a standby switch, carpooling with your friends (seriously!) etc. Sounds small but goes a long way to building bigger things.

So on 28th March 8.30pm, witness Earth Hour around the world! And if you're in Singapore, here are some details to how you can join in and support.....

    Green Carnival & 'Blackout'

Bring your picnic rug and food basket to enjoy a simple and fun time with us, as we witness the first ever blackout of buildings in Singapore!

    Date: 28th March 2009
    Time: 5:00pm-9:30pm
    Venue: Esplanade Park

If you're in sunny little Singapore, I'll be at the magazine launch party for 'i-weekly', Saturday 14th March talking more about I WILL SURVIVE! Pictures then!

  • Au naturale reboost!

    Saturday, Mar 7, 2009 7:00PM / Standard Entry

The past 2 months have been slightly crazy and I decided to get back to some island lovin' to revitilise by heading to Kota Kinabalu. I've never been here before, only heard of how beautiful Mt Kinabalu is, but my gosh the surrounding beaches around this small city are worth paying a visit. Secluded, untouched and blue waters.... it was well worth the short weekend getaway.

    Another Red Sunset

    Tanning by the blue waters

Makes me miss the beach so much, and i just wanna pick up surfing all over again....
Do yourself a favour, and soak some of this in when you have time :)

  • Catch 'I Will Survive' OKTO Channel.

    Wednesday, Feb 18, 2009 3:42PM / Standard Entry

I've been getting busy and filming a new program for the new channel OKTO, it's an arts series called 'I Will Survive'. It's been really fun meeting all these artists and understanding their craft. From music to dance to photography to art paintings......... It's always nice to see people so involved in their passions and some of the talent out there should be showcased more to the world!

Here are some of the stills from an episode of the shoot.

    Isn't it beautiful?

The crew and I decide to exchange roles!

This was on location at the beautiful Katong Antique House, which is an old Perenakan heritage shophouse. I interviewed Peter Wee (the old man in the shot above), who had amazing stories to share about the life of his people and family- where 4 generations have lived in that very house!

Actually something which was extremely thought provoking and caught my eye were the images of Mother Mary and Jesus he had in this shophouse. They were dressed in the Kebaya (clothes) of the Perenakan culture compared to the normal 'outfits' you see these Catholic figues usually wear....

He started sharing with me how this was an example of tradition vs religion and faith. He said a priest had come in and approved of these images... Honestly, it's amazing how different cultures interpret religious figures. It could be the same message universally, but the outlook of it is so diverse and looks so different to each of us. I was honestly bit taken aback when I saw these myself....

Well, it's coming to the end of Feb and how time just whizzes by. 6 months ago I asked myself, what will I be doing at the start of 2009?
