I've spent most of today unpacking all of the things I brought back from Santa Cruz. It was hard finding places to put all the trinkets I've accumulated, but I think everything is basically back in order. My overall favorite piece of NorCal perephenelia is a glowing plastic crystal I found at some aquarium accessory shop in San Francisco Chinatown. The lump of hollow acrylic cost around $20 US, which is WAY too expensive for a crappy (yet awesome) fish tank toy- but I really had to have it. Honestly...I more than wanted it. I needed it.
Long story short, it has joined my ever-increasing fish tank accessory collection. Thus far, I have three sizable pieces of plastic neon coral, not including the other two in Jason's apartment, and this fantastic glowing rock. On top of that, I have a toy suitcase that houses my new pearly pink mermaid, a banana yellow pony, a blue dolphin and a sunken pirate boat (all of which I consider to be aquarium accessories). I need moooreee!! I want to bring some to JJ's apartment and put them in his fish tank- which we bought solely for that purpose hahaha. As far as I know it still looks the same as when I left it, with white sand, space rocks, bright yellow/pink coral, and little neon plastic stars floating around. It desperately needs a mermaid, dolphin and sunken ship- trust me, I can tell.
I've already admitted this to Jason, but now I need to admit it to myself:
I think I'm a closet junk lover.
I mean, really.
Take these for example:

The wishlist is endless. These things are not practical, useful, or educational in any way, shape, or form (except for maybe the space globe), but I still want them. Just looking at them makes me happy. :) They'll all be mine, someday.
